If you\u2019re looking for a tablet that\u2019s nearly as light as a smartphone, Huawei\u2019s new mini-tablet might be worth a consideration.<\/p>\n

The company just launched the 8.8-inch Huawei MatePad Mini<\/b> in Singapore, combining the core perks of a tablet (generous viewing) in a bag-friendly format.<\/p>\n

Huawei MatePad Mini is light, thin, and almost palm-sized.<\/p>\n

The MatePad Mini is 5.1mm<\/b> thin at 260g<\/b>, making it just 35-46g more than the OPPO Find N6<\/u>, Xiaomi 17 Ultra<\/u>, or Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra<\/u>. The tablet earns its \u201cmini\u201d namesake by being thinner than most standard phones and nearly as thin as an unfolded foldable handset.<\/p>\n

Adding to its lightweight appeal is the 2.99mm<\/b> bezels, giving its 8.8-inch Flexible OLED Huawei FullView Display an expansive 92% screen-to-body ratio. For maximum clarity, it has a 2,560 x 1,600-pixel resolution, and its PaperMatte quality helps remove up to 99% of ambient light interference.<\/p>\n

Huawei M-Pencil Pro works on the tablet, despite its compact form factor.<\/p>\n

Another perk is that the mini-tablet is compatible with Huawei\u2019s M-Pencil Pro stylus, making it easier to annotate important details or use its its GoPaint app for stylistic sketches.<\/p>\n

It comes with a 6,400mAh battery, wired charging (66W), and Bluetooth 5.2. However, it doesn\u2019t have an IP rating on its official spec sheet<\/u>, nor does Huawei state its supported Wi-Fi version.\u00a0<\/p>\n

There\u2019s also no mention of SIM or eSIM compatibility, and like recent Huawei products, runs on HarmonyOS 4.3 and its own AppGallery apps (hence no Google Mobile Services or Google Play out of the box).<\/p>\n
