SINGAPORE \u2013 Motorists should follow traffic laws and maintain lane discipline while using Singapore\u2019s land checkpoints, the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) said. <\/p>\n
This comes as 18 motorists were caught at Woodlands Checkpoint for traffic offences in a recent enforcement operation.<\/p>\n
The motorists were caught between April 3 and April 5, when ICA officers stepped up their <\/span><\/a>enforcement <\/span><\/a>at the checkpoint<\/span><\/a> against those who committed traffic offences, cut queues and engaged in \u201cother dangerous road behaviour\u201d, the authority said in a statement on April 10.<\/p>\n A total of 15 motorists were caught at departure for traffic offences, including crossing double white lines, making illegal right turns, traffic light violations, and stopping in positions likely to cause danger, obstruction or inconvenience. <\/p>\n Of this group, 11 vehicles were made to make a U-turn and re-queue, while four drivers of foreign-registered vehicles were banned from entering Singapore for offences, including crossing double white lines and queue-cutting. <\/p>\n Also, 12 motorists were referred to the Traffic Police for further action, ICA said.<\/p>\n In addition, three motorists were caught on arrival for offences, including crossing double white lines, and referred to the Traffic Police for further action.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
