A commuter was annoyed by a woman speaking loudly on her phone while on the train.<\/p>\n
Stomper David<\/strong> shared a video of the incident, which occurred along the North-South Line on April 4 at about 12.20pm.<\/p>\n He said the woman was on a loud phone call for around five MRT stops, which he found \u201cannoying\u201d.<\/p>\n In the 37-second clip, the woman can be heard saying: \u201cI don\u2019t know, then I\u2019m very angry. Bloody hell.\u201d<\/p>\n She appeared to be recounting some \u201cscrew-up\u201d regarding an appointment, saying: \u201cThen you know what happened or not?\u201d<\/p>\n The woman can also be heard saying that she \u201cwas already very irritated\u201d at having to \u201cwaste time and money\u201d, before repeating that she was \u201cvery angry\u201d because of a \u201cscrew-up that day\u201d.<\/p>\n David told Stomp: \u201cShe was disturbing the peace of those within a five-metre radius.\u201d<\/p>\n In a poll conducted by\u00a0The Straits Times<\/a>, playing videos or music at high volume was the top pet peeve among commuters, cited by 48.6 per cent of respondents.<\/p>\n The report also noted that commuters often find\u00a0loud conversations and noise from mobile devices<\/a>\u00a0disruptive, though some prefer not to confront others to avoid conflict.<\/p>\n Signs on buses and trains remind passengers to keep their volume down as part of efforts to encourage gracious behaviour on public transport.<\/p>\n In October last year, the government passed the Transport Sector (Miscellaneous Amendments) Bill to\u00a0penalise disruptive and inconsiderate bus passengers<\/a>, such as those who play loud music and videos on their phones.
