The next hero coming to Overwatch<\/em> is Sierra, a new Damage-role character who brings an intriguing ability kit to the game. Blizzard Entertainment revealed the news Wednesday, alongside the release of a new trailer introducing her backstory. Sierra’s hero trailer follows a first-look teaser of her artwork released last week.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n In the new animated trailer set on Watchpoint: Grand Mesa, Sierra intercepts another Overwatch<\/em> newcomer, Emre, who is recovering an unspecified asset. We get a glimpse of Sierra’s kit, which includes a full-auto energy rifle and her drone, DoROTHy, which she can tether herself to in order to quickly move around the battlefield. Sierra’s rifle can also fire what appears to be a targeting dart; we see her fire it at Emre, with the projectile lodging itself into his armor. Her rifle fire then changes course and rains down on Emre’s position. Ultimately, the dart explodes, taking Emre down.<\/p>\n While we don’t get any in-game footage \u2014 that will probably come later this week \u2014 the trailer is a pretty clear indication of what Sierra will bring to the Damage role in Overwatch<\/em> in season 2.<\/p>\n Sierra is slated to join Overwatch<\/em> with the launch of season 2, which will begin on April 14, Blizzard confirmed.<\/p>\n Blizzard relaunched Overwatch<\/em> in February, dropping the 2 from the game’s title and adding five new heroes to the roster: Domina (Tank), Anran (Damage), Emre (Damage), Jetpack Cat (Support), and Mizuki (Support). Blizzard plans to add a total of 10 new heroes to the game in 2026, including Sierra.<\/p>\n Overwatch<\/em> is currently available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
