For years, wedge heels have taken a back seat, often associated with noughties holiday wardrobes or summer weddings.<\/p>\n

This season, however, they have stepped back into trend, thanks to recent shows from Victoria Beckham, Chloe and Isabel Marant, which has revived its Bekett wedge sneaker.<\/p>\n

While designers have offered twists on the classic wedge, such as cut-outs or textural finishes, the heel has not lost its wearability in making height comfortable.<\/p>\n

According to British retailer Marks & Spencer\u2019s head of womenswear design Lisa Illis, the comeback is part of the wider trend towards nostalgic dressing.<\/p>\n

\u201cMany current trends are all about throwback appeal,\u201d she says. \u201cAlthough their history begins in the 30s, wedge heels are closely associated with bold Y2K fashion.\u201d<\/p>\n

Early-2000s style is one of the biggest to return to the trend cycle this season, alongside reinterpretations of the 1990s.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
