Back in January 2026, the AMEX Platinum Charge<\/a> launched an excellent welcome offer of 98,250 bonus MR points<\/strong> with a minimum spend of just S$3,000.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The most surprising thing? Only existing<\/strong> AMEX customers were eligible. In fact, it was significantly more lucrative than the offer for new-to-AMEX customers,<\/a> who have to spend S$8,000 to receive 230,000 bonus MR points \u2014 of which more than 50% are awarded in the second year, after the payment of another annual fee!<\/p>\n

This offer was originally set to lapse at the end of March, but has now been extended till at least 29 April 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Obviously, this offer isn\u2019t as lucrative as it was prior to 23 February 2026, following the devaluation<\/a> of transfers between Membership Rewards points and airline miles. However, it\u2019s still double the previous offer for existing customers, and like it or not,\u00a0the pre-devaluation days aren\u2019t coming back.<\/p>\n
