Chou has clearly been throwing herself fully into her hosting duties \u2013 so much so that she momentarily forgot she is also nominated for Best Actress.<\/p>\n
The actress earned the nod for her performance in Perfectly Imperfect, where she played two vastly different roles: a teacher and a prostitute. She is up against Chantalle Ng (Emerald Hill \u2013 The Little Nyonya Story), Hong Ling (The Spirit Hunter), Jesseca Liu (Emerald Hill \u2013 The Little Nyonya Story) and Tasha Low (Emerald Hill \u2013 The Little Nyonya Story).<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s 18 days to Star Awards, and all our meetings have been about hosting,\u201d she said. \u201cIt wasn\u2019t until I spoke to a media outlet that I was reminded I\u2019m also nominated for Best Actress.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt took me a while and I was like, \u2018Oh yes, I am!\u2019\u201d she laughed.<\/p>\n
In fact, Chou has been so focused on preparing for the show that she has yet to find her outfit for the Walk of Fame red carpet.<\/p>\n
\u201cI just had a meeting with my team and they asked, \u2018You\u2019re not nervous?\u2019 And I was like, \u2018No lah, it\u2019s okay,\u2019\u201d she said with a laugh.<\/p>\n
As this is her first acting nomination, Chou says she is choosing to take things in stride.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ll just leave it to fate and not put too much pressure on myself,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
When asked if she sees herself as the next-generation \u201cAh Jie\u201d, Chou laughed off the idea.<\/p>\n
\u201cTo be very honest \u2013 and I\u2019m not just saying this \u2013 it\u2019s not something that\u2019s at the forefront of my goals. I just want to know that I\u2019ve done a good job.\u201d<\/p>\n
Chou and Zhang are no strangers to working together. Both were ambassadors for Malaysian luxury brand Bonia, and have co-starred in Perfectly Imperfect as well as the upcoming Mediacorp dystopian crime trilogy The Leftovers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
