Magic: The Gathering\u2019s Universes Beyond crossovers are contentious within the game\u2019s community, but there\u2019s no denying that they\u2019ve brought in a lot of fresh players. If your friends are already playing, though, it can be tough to work out where to begin. Thankfully, a couple of options make it a little easier to get into the 33-year-old game, and they\u2019re seeing discounts at Amazon right now.<\/p>\n

The Foundations one is getting trickier to find, but if you\u2019re happy to learn the long-running TCG through the lens of Avatar: The Last Airbender, then the Avatar Beginner Box is a great place to start.<\/p>\n It includes two mini decks to learn to play as you pit Aang and Zuko against each other in a guided tutorial game, and then a bunch of themed decks to swap in as you try different color combinations. Wizards said it wanted it to feel like inheriting a shoebox of cards to use for deck building, and to that end, it contains a whopping 387 cards. It doesn\u2019t include anything particularly valuable, but there are three Play Boosters included, too, and between all of those composite pieces, you can easily start building a deck with the guidance included inside.<\/p>\n If you want to learn the Commander format, it\u2019s a decent place to start, too, with enough cards to start building a 100-card setup and some format staples like Arcane Signet.
