{"id":41665,"date":"2026-04-04T12:00:42","date_gmt":"2026-04-04T04:00:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=41665"},"modified":"2026-04-04T12:00:42","modified_gmt":"2026-04-04T04:00:42","slug":"48-year-old-murder-suspect-brought-back-to-scene-of-fatal-fight-in-geylang-singapore-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=41665","title":{"rendered":"48-year-old murder suspect brought back to scene of fatal fight in Geylang, Singapore News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The man suspected of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.asiaone.com\/singapore\/man-70-die-stabbed-former-employee-geylang\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">murdering a 70-year-old man in Geylang<\/a> on March 9 was taken back to the crime scene by the police on Friday (April 3) morning.<\/p>\n<p>Ong Hou Cheong, 48, arrived at Lorong 16 Geylang at about 9.15am in an unmarked police van, dressed in a red polo shirt, navy blue shorts and clear slippers.<\/p>\n<p>The Singaporean, who was restrained around his ankles and wrists, was escorted by four police investigators.<\/p>\n<p>They were met by other investigators and crime scene specialists at the scene.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ong, who appeared stoic, spent about 20 minutes answering questions from police investigators.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" frameborder=\"0\" height=\"708\" width=\"500\" scrolling=\"no\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fasiaonecom%2Fposts%2Fpfbid0P6n7p6W5X9DedvTvA31Eb7pQ55vdGBcDbnWUuKBz92tLHFrFbt5MRGu85kgM8Hsul&amp;show_text=true&amp;width=500\" allowfullscreen=\"\" allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; picture-in-picture; web-share\">\u00a0<\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>He is accused of stabbing 70-year-old <a href=\"https:\/\/www.asiaone.com\/entertainment\/director-local-film-geylang-70-year-old-man-stabbed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chow Ling Fe<\/a>i in the chest, and was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.asiaone.com\/singapore\/man-48-charged-murder-70-year-old-employer-geylang\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">charged with Chow&#8217;s murder<\/a> on March 10.<\/p>\n<p>Chow was taken unconscious to hospital where he later died.<\/p>\n<p>Preliminary investigations revealed that both men knew each other, with the victim reported to have been Ong&#8217;s former employer.<\/p>\n<p>The 48-year-old was escorted away from the scene just before 9.40am.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"tiktok-embed\" style=\"max-width:605px;min-width:325px\" cite=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@asiaone\/video\/7624367968805326098\" data-video-id=\"7624367968805326098\">\n<section>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@asiaone?refer=embed\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"@asiaone\" rel=\"noopener\">@asiaone<\/a> What started out as a fight involving Ong Hou Cheong, 48, and Chow Ling Fei, 70, led to the death of Chow on March 9. Ong has since been charged with Chow\u2019s murder.
