{"id":39554,"date":"2026-03-27T02:44:52","date_gmt":"2026-03-26T18:44:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=39554"},"modified":"2026-03-27T02:44:52","modified_gmt":"2026-03-26T18:44:52","slug":"singapore-slams-brakes-on-climate-levy-and-cleaner-fuel-mandate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=39554","title":{"rendered":"Singapore Slams Brakes on Climate Levy and Cleaner Fuel Mandate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div data-my-skift-post-excerpt=\"\">\n<p>Singapore has delayed its own plans to introduce the world\u2019s first air passenger levy to fund decarbonization and give airlines a deadline for introducing cleaner fuel.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement released Wednesday, the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), explained that the levy, which was meant to be applied to flights booked this April and departing this August, will instead only apply to tickets sold from October 1 this year, for flights departing from January 1, 2027.<\/p>\n<p>Singapore also postponed its requirement for airlines to use at least 1% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
