{"id":38817,"date":"2026-03-24T08:58:35","date_gmt":"2026-03-24T00:58:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=38817"},"modified":"2026-03-24T08:58:35","modified_gmt":"2026-03-24T00:58:35","slug":"seven-taken-to-hospital-after-car-catches-fire-in-buangkok-crescent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=38817","title":{"rendered":"Seven taken to hospital after car catches fire in Buangkok Crescent"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">SINGAPORE \u2013 Seven people were taken to hospital on March 23 after a car caught fire in Buangkok Crescent. <\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said<!-- --> it was alerted at about 8pm to a fire involving a car on the ground floor of Block 980D Buangkok Crescent.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">About 20 people had evacuated from the block before SCDF arrived and extinguished the fire using a water jet.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">SCDF said it took four people to Singapore General Hospital and three to KK Women\u2019s and Children\u2019s Hospital for smoke inhalation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">The cause of the fire is under investigation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">In 2025, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.straitstimes.com\/singapore\/more-fire-injuries-and-ev-blazes-in-2025-nearly-half-of-emergency-calls-involved-seniors-scdf?ref=inline-article\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" class=\"gap-x-04 items-center inline text-primary-60 select-auto\" aria-label=\"link\" target=\"_blank\" data-testid=\"custom-link\"><span class=\"font-body-baseline-regular inline\" data-testid=\"paragraph-test-id\">the total number of vehicle fires decreased to 226<\/span><\/a>, from 257 in 2024. <\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">Four of the fires in 2025 involved electric vehicles, an increase from one case in 2024.
