Filipino theatre icon Lea Salonga<\/strong> is heading back to the world of Les Mis\u00e9rables<\/em><\/strong> \u2014 but this time, in a brand new role.<\/p>\n

The multi-award-winning actress and singer has been announced as Madame Th\u00e9nardier in the Les Mis\u00e9rables The Arena Spectacular<\/em><\/strong>, set to run in Singapore from 24 March to 10 May<\/strong> at Sands Theatre, Marina Bay Sands<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

For longtime fans, this casting marks a full-circle moment. Salonga has previously taken on the roles of \u00c9ponine and Fantine in the legendary musical, including appearances in its landmark 10th and 25th anniversary concerts. Now, she steps into one of the show\u2019s most mischievous and scene-stealing characters.<\/p>\n

She joins an already stacked international cast, including Ger\u00f3nimo Rauch<\/strong> as Jean Valjean, Jeremy Secomb<\/strong> as Javert, and Red Concepci\u00f3n<\/strong> as Th\u00e9nardier, alongside Singaporean talent Nathania Ong<\/strong> as \u00c9ponine.<\/p>\n

Originally conceived to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Boublil and Sch\u00f6nberg\u2019s Les Mis\u00e9rables<\/em>, this arena spectacular promises a \u043c\u0430\u0441\u0448\u0442\u0430\u0431ed-up, cinematic experience \u2014 blending concert-style staging with theatrical storytelling. Since its premiere in 2024, the production has toured globally, selling over a million tickets and playing to packed venues across Europe and Asia.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Following record-breaking stops in cities like Manila, Shanghai, and Tokyo, the show\u2019s Singapore run is set to be one of its most anticipated Southeast Asian legs before it heads to London\u2019s Royal Albert Hall and New York\u2019s Radio City Music Hall.<\/p>\n
