Vivo <\/b>has announced the global release of its latest selfie-friendly Vivo V70. However, the company has gone beyond selfies with the successor to the V60.<\/p>\n Vivo V70 in the Golden Hour colourway.<\/p>\n Photo: HWZ<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n The 50MP Zeiss Super Telephoto Camera <\/b>now features a pro-grade 1\/1.95-inch ultra-sensing sensor<\/b> with OIS and an advanced periscope design for higher zoom levels. <\/p>\n Making it special is Vivo\u2019s AI Stage Mode<\/b>, which works alongside the AI Image Enhancement Algorithm and AI Style Portrait Technology to capture sharp stage photos at up to 10x zoom. It also has 85mm Portrait <\/b>with Zeiss Sonnar-style bokeh for creamy flares, as well as a 100mm Close-Up Portrait<\/b> mode that delivers Zeiss Planar-style bokeh with classic effects. These spruced-up perks for its telephoto shooting are catered for viewers to achieve better stage photography.<\/p>\n AI Magic Weather<\/b> can enhance skies, remove unwanted subjects, and it now corrects tilted shots, while AI Magic Landscape<\/b> enables users to apply different geographical themes for more dynamic travel portraits.<\/p>\n Vivo V70\u2019s AI Magic Weather builds upon the previous V60\u2019s AI Four Seasons feature, which you can see in our previous review here.<\/p>\n We tested both AI Magic Weather and AI Magic Landscape out, and while the sky replacement tool worked well, you\u2019ll notice immediately that the AI seems a bit prone to editing photo elements even when unnecessary, such as changing the base or colour of the car park signboard. <\/p>\n This issue is persistent in AI Magic Landscape as well, with the Snow filter completely changing the car park signboard to something else. The filter, oddly, also kept green leaves from the tree on the right side. The snow option in AI Four Seasons works better, in our opinion. We can definitely see how the Desert and Island filters would work well to boost colours in those scenes, however.<\/p>\n For video, the V70 is the first in its series to support 4K 60fps recording<\/b>. Combined with AI tools such as AI Audio Eraser<\/b>, users can reduce unwanted background noises in their videos.<\/p>\n Vivo V70 in Golden Hour colourway.<\/p>\n Image: Vivo<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n The new phone has an aerospace-grade aluminium alloy frame<\/b> with rounded corners and ultra-thin 1.25mm screen bezels, marking a premium upgrade over its predecessor’s plastic chassis. <\/p>\n It also introduces a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor<\/b> that is faster, more reliable, and more secure than the optical reader found on the V60. The display is slightly smaller at 6.59 inches and flat, which is a huge difference from the V60\u2019s 6.77-inch curved display.<\/p>\n In the hand, it does feel noticeably more premium and durable. The smaller size also contributes to a less tiring experience, with better grip. <\/p>\n On the software front, Vivo is committing to four generations of OS upgrades<\/b> and six years of security updates<\/b> for the V70. It also ships with the latest OriginOS 6. <\/p>\n If you\u2019re wondering why it\u2019s no longer Funtouch OS, that\u2019s because Vivo has moved on to using an international version of its fuller operating system, OriginOS 6, ever since the Vivo X300 series phones.<\/p>\n Other highlights include a 6,500mAh battery <\/b>with 90W wired fast charging, a 50MP Zeiss OIS main camera, an 8MP Zeiss ultra-wide angle camera, a 50MP Zeiss Group Selfie camera at the front.<\/p>\n It\u2019s also IP68\/IP69<\/b>-rated dust and water resistance.<\/p>\n Keeping it wallet-friendly is the choice of its mid-range chipset, Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 from 2025.<\/p>\n Vivo V70 pricing<\/p>\n Photo: HWZ<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n The Vivo V70 will come in a single 12GB RAM + 256GB storage configuration, with a recommended retail price of S$799<\/b> for the Golden Hour and Alpine Grey colourways.<\/p>\n Pre-orders for the Vivo V70 in Singapore will run from now until 27 March 2026 on Shopee, Lazada, TikTok and authorised retailers. Customers who pre-order will receive a complimentary set of the vivo Buds Air 3.
