Despite the fact that the OPPO Find N6 has not officially launched yet, 57 HardwareZone forum members were already holding one, turning it over in their hands, folding and unfolding it, running their thumbs across the display, trying to find the crease on the afternoon of 14 March. For most of them, the reaction was the same: a slightly incredulous grin.<\/p>\n

This was the OPPO Find N6 World\u2019s First Premiere Showcase, held at the SPH Auditorium, co-hosted by OPPO and HardwareZone. It was also the first member event HardwareZone had run since Covid, and the response had been, as the sign-up page put it, \u201coverwhelming\u201d. Demand far exceeded the venue\u2019s capacity, and 57 lucky members were selected from the entries submitted.<\/p>\n

Each confirmed attendee arrived knowing they were getting something most people in the world had not had access to yet, alongside a gift pack that included a high-speed OPPO power bank and a special event voucher for a discount on the Find N6. Not a bad afternoon\u2019s work.<\/p>\n

Kicking off the session was HardwareZone\u2019s own Editor-in-Chief, Vijay Anand, who took the audience on a brief history of OPPO. For Vijay, the story goes back further than most would expect: he first encountered the brand not through smartphones, but through their high-end Blu-ray and media players. It was the kind of unexpected origin story that set the tone for an evening that kept things personal and grounded, rather than slick and corporate.<\/p>\n

Then came Dylan Yu, OPPO Singapore\u2019s Head of Marketing and E-commerce, who took centre stage to walk members through the Find N6 in detail: what it took to make the crease disappear, the engineering behind the hinge, the productivity tools built around the larger canvas, and the camera system that OPPO says puts a foldable phone properly in the conversation alongside today\u2019s flagship bars.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s also worth noting that some of the improvements to the Find N6 came directly from feedback enthusiastic HardwareZone members had submitted through the OPPO User Group in our Forums. That is not a small thing. The people in the room that afternoon had, in some small but real way, contributed to the phone they were now holding.<\/p>\n

For anyone who has used a foldable phone, the crease is the thing. It is there when you watch a video. You feel it when you write or swipe across the screen. And there is always that low-level anxiety about whether it will get worse over time. OPPO clearly understands this because Yu spent considerable time explaining exactly what the company had done about it.<\/p>\n

The solution comes in two parts. The first is what OPPO calls the 2nd-Generation Titanium Flexion Hinge, described as the industry\u2019s flattest hinge. The engineering goal was to ensure that the screen never \u201clifts\u201d or \u201cbulges\u201d at the fold. The second is the Auto-Smoothing Flex Glass, a self-springing glass material engineered so that the crease bounces back rather than settles into a permanent line.<\/p>\n

To validate the long-term reliability of both, OPPO puts the Find N6 through 200,000 fold cycles in its testing lab before it reaches anyone\u2019s hands. Running the numbers, that is more folds than most people will make in the lifetime of a device. The claim of a near-invisible crease is, in the experience of the members in the room, not an overstatement.<\/p>\n

One of the headline software upgrades in the Find N6 is multitasking. Where the Find N5 topped out at two apps open simultaneously, the Find N6 supports up to four apps open at once<\/b>, with the flexibility to freely adjust window sizes and aspect ratios on the fly. On a foldable with a large unfolded display, that is a meaningful difference for anyone who uses their phone seriously for work.<\/p>\n

Yu also demonstrated the AI Pen<\/b>, which supports a range of productivity and creative functions. Quick Note<\/b> and Global Annotation<\/b> cover the expected note-taking territory, but the AI Pen can also function as a laser pointer, which has some genuinely practical applications for presentations. On the creative side, Circle to Capture<\/b> lets users capture on-screen content with a gesture, while AI Chart<\/b> can convert rough drafts into professional tables, and AI Image transforms handwritten sketches into recognisable artwork. These are the kinds of tools that sound like feature-list padding in a product brief, but tend to be the ones people actually use once they have them.<\/p>\n

OPPO\u2019s camera partnership with Hasselblad has been a point of differentiation for the Find series, and the Find N6 takes that further with what OPPO calls the Hasselblad Master Camera System. Yu presented it as a direct response to customer feedback: people wanted a foldable that did not feel like a compromise on imaging compared to the best bar-style flagships.<\/p>\n

The core setup consists of a 200MP Hasselblad Ultra-Clear main camera<\/b>, a 50MP ultra-wide camera<\/b> that captures 50 per cent more light for improved low-light performance, and a 50MP 3x periscope telephoto camera<\/b> with tele-macro capability. The system also incorporates a dedicated True Color Camera, borrowed from the Find X9 series, specifically designed to improve white balance and natural colour reproduction across shooting conditions.<\/p>\n

For members who came primarily for the camera, it was clearly the highlight. Whether it closes the gap with the top tier of bar-form flagships in real-world use remains to be tested thoroughly (we\u2019ll be doing that in the coming days), but the hardware specification is serious.<\/p>\n

Feedback from the 57 members after the event was, by any measure, encouraging for OPPO. The majority said they were seriously considering the Find N6 when asked. The sticking point, as is almost always the case with premium foldables, was price.<\/p>\n

Shelva Vishnu turned up primarily for the camera. Having recently started a video blog, he had been weighing up the OPPO Find X9 Pro, but felt that the Find N6\u2019s upgraded imaging system made it a compelling contender for his use case. \u201cThe improved camera certainly made it a prime contender,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

John Chong was struck by several things at once: the crease-free display, the AI features, and the camera all landed well. That said, his final decision, he said, would come down to the official launch price and what bundle offers came with it.<\/p>\n

Dickie Komah had found out about the event through the HardwareZone forums. He liked the phone and said he was keen to purchase one, but like John, his decision hinged on pricing.<\/p>\n

It is worth being transparent here: the event was co-hosted by OPPO, and attendees arrived in a context designed to showcase the phone at its best. That said, the consistency of the feedback across different members with different priorities, from camera to productivity to display quality, suggests the Find N6 made a genuine impression rather than simply a polished one.<\/p>\n

The OPPO Find N6 will be available globally available starting from March 20, 2026 at M1, Singtel, Starhub, OPPO Brand Stores, the OPPO Official Online Store, OPPO Online Flagship Stores on Amazon.sg, iShopChangi, KrisShop, Lazada, Shopee, TikTok, and retail partners like Best Denki, Courts, Harvey Norman, and Challenger. <\/p>\n
