Xiaomi\u2019s sub-brand, Poco, has launched its latest midrange smartphones, the X8 Pro series in Singapore: the X8 Pro and X8 Pro Max<\/b>. With the new X8 Pro series, Poco is aiming to deliver flagship-level performance at more accessible price points. <\/p>\n The Poco X8 Pro Max in blue.<\/p>\n Photo: Poco<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n Leading the lineup is the Poco X8 Pro Max, which is the first smartphone to be powered by the 3nm<\/b> MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset<\/b>, paired with 12GB of RAM. For a quick recap, the Dimensity 9500s features a 4+4 all-big-core CPU architecture with clock speeds of up to 3.37GHz.<\/p>\n To keep temperatures in check during demanding workloads, Poco has equipped the X8 Pro Max with its 3D IceLoop Cooling system<\/b>. It features a 5,800mm\u00b2 liquid-cooling area and a specialised 3D bulge above the chipset to improve thermal efficiency and lower SoC temperatures by up to 3\u00b0C.<\/p>\n The X8 Pro Max also packs the largest battery ever in a Poco phone: an 8,500mAh cell<\/b> that the company says can deliver up to two days of usage on a single charge. Poco claims the battery can retain over 80% of its original capacity after six years of regular use, or around 1,600 charge cycles. It also supports 100W HyperCharge and up to 27W reverse charging.<\/p>\n On the front, the phone features a 6.83-inch AMOLED display<\/b> with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits. For comparison, the displays on the Samsung Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ are rated at 2,600 nits peak brightness. The panel uses M10 materials with integrated red luminous elements to improve brightness efficiency while reducing power consumption.<\/p>\n On the back are the 50MP f\/1.5 main camera<\/b> (1\/1.95-inch Light Fusion 600 image sensor with OIS) and an 8MP f\/2.2 ultra-wide camera<\/b>. <\/p>\n Other specs include Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, IP66\/68\/69\/69K dust and water-resistance ratings<\/b>, Xiaomi HyperOS 3, an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, AI Face Unlock, Wi-Fi 7 support, and dual-SIM capability.<\/p>\n The Poco X8 Pro is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra chip.<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n The Poco X8 Pro is powered by the Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset<\/b> and comes with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM, alongside an upgraded 6,500mAh silicon-carbon battery<\/b>. It has a slightly smaller 5,300mm\u00b2 3D dual-layer IceLoop Cooling system.<\/p>\n It also features a slightly smaller 6.59-inch AMOLED display<\/b> with a 120Hz refresh rate, although peak brightness remains on par with the Pro Max.<\/p>\n For photography, the X8 Pro is equipped with a 50MP f\/1.5 main camera<\/b> using the 1\/1.95-inch Sony IMX882 sensor with OIS, alongside an 8MP f\/2.2 ultra-wide camera<\/b>.<\/p>\n Compared with the X8 Pro Max, the X8 Pro is a more modest package. It uses an in-display fingerprint sensor and supports Wi-Fi 6 connectivity.
