Cafe Mary<\/span> Grace, a longtime Filipino bakery-cafe chain known for serving comfort food, has opened its first international store in Singapore.<\/span><\/p>\n The 28-seater cafe located on Tras Street will open for business on March 13.<\/p>\n “Bringing Cafe\u00a0<\/span>Mary<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Grace<\/span>\u00a0to Singapore is truly a dream for our family,” said\u00a0brand founder <\/span>Mary<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Grace<\/span>\u00a0Dimacali in a press release on Wednesday (March 11).<\/span><\/p>\n “Every pastry, every dish, every corner of the cafe carries the warmth and care we’ve shared with our guests in the Philippines for decades. We can’t wait to welcome a new community and share a little taste of home with them.”<\/span><\/p>\n Diners can look forward to several classics on the menu, such as the\u00a0<\/span>Mary<\/span>\u00a0Grace<\/span>\u00a0Ensaymada\u00a0($5.50), a light, buttery brioche topped with premium aged Edam cheese, and the\u00a0Mary<\/span>\u00a0Grace<\/span>\u00a0Cheese Rolls\u00a0($4.30), best enjoyed alongside a cup of Mary<\/span>\u00a0Grace<\/span>\u00a0Hot Chocolate\u00a0($7.50).\u00a0<\/p>\n A more indulgent treat is the\u00a0Mango Bene\u00a0($14.50, petite), which features layers of crisp meringue and silky custard cream with fresh mangoes.\u00a0<\/p>\n Comfort food on the menu includes dishes such as\u00a0Cassava Chips with Onion Dip\u00a0($12) and fresh salads such as the\u00a0White Cheese Salad with Calamansi Vinaigrette\u00a0($18).\u00a0<\/p>\n Want something more filling?\u00a0<\/p>\n There are mains such as Angus\u00a0Beef Tapa\u00a0($25.50), which features tender Angus beef slices served with fragrant rosemary fried rice or garlic rice, and eggs your way. There is also Grilled Chicken Inasal Focaccia\u00a0($19.50), marinated in a tangy achuete-spiced blend.\u00a0<\/p>\n Diners can also check out Singapore-exclusive creations crafted for local palates \u2014 the\u00a0<\/span>Salted Egg Ensaymada\u00a0($6.50) and Kaya Pandan Cheese Roll\u00a0($5.30).<\/p>\n For brunch, another Singapore-exclusive creation to try is the Crabcake Brioche\u00a0($27), featuring savoury golden crab cakes nestled on soft ensaymada brioche dough.<\/p>\n On top of food, the cafe offers an array of drinks from coffees to playful cloud drinks.\u00a0<\/p>\n And if you want to take some sweets home or gift them to a friend, many of Cafe\u00a0<\/span>Mary<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Grace’s <\/span>signature bakes are available in packaged boxes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In addition to the well-loved Ensaymadas and Cheese Rolls, guests can take home <\/span>Queso de Bola Lengua Thins\u00a0($24) and\u00a0Butter Lengua Thins\u00a0($21), crisp, buttery biscuits that are light yet indulgent.<\/p>\n Mary, who has a deep love for baking, founded the brand in 1994.\u00a0<\/p>\n She often baked up a storm in her kitchen, serving up birthday cakes for her five children, as well as sweet treats such as fruitcakes, cream puffs, lemon squares, and brownies.<\/p>\n These handmade goodies were made in small batches and shared among family and friends. Soon, Mary began selling her bakes at bazaars and local markets.\u00a0<\/p>\n Eventually, she opened a brick-and-mortar bakery kiosk in 2002, followed by the opening of the first Cafe Mary<\/span> Grace<\/span> in 2006.<\/p>\n Now, the brand has expanded to have more than 140 branches across the Philippines. \u00a0<\/p>\nWhat’s on the menu?\u00a0<\/h2>\n
