Apple refreshes its lineup of external monitors with the launch of the new Studio Display and Studio Display XDR. <\/p>\n

Succeeding the nearly 7-year-old Pro Display XDR, the Studio Display XDR features a more compact 27-inch 5K Retina XDR display<\/b> with a resolution of 5,120 x 2,880 pixels. By comparison, the Pro Display XDR offers a larger 32-inch display with a higher 6K resolution.<\/p>\n

Apple also upgraded the panel technology, replacing the LCD with mini-LED<\/b>. The new display utilises 2,304 local dimming zones to deliver deeper blacks<\/b> and higher contrast levels<\/b>. Peak HDR brightness reaches up to 2,000 nits<\/b>, an increase over the predecessor\u2019s 1,600 nits.<\/p>\n

For improved colour accuracy, the monitor now supports the Adobe RGB colour gamut in addition to P3 wide colour. It also features a 120Hz refresh rate with Adaptive Sync, enabling a dynamically variable refresh rate between 47Hz and 120Hz for smoother visuals. However, this requires an M4 Mac or later, or the M5 iPad Pro.<\/p>\n

Additional features include a 12MP Center Stage camera with Desk View support, a studio-quality three-microphone array, and a six-speaker system with Spatial Audio. Connectivity options comprise two Thunderbolt 5 ports and two USB-C ports, while the included stand offers tilt and height adjustment with up to 105mm of vertical travel. The upstream port supports up to 140W charging, which is powerful enough to charge a 16-inch MacBook Pro.<\/p>\n

The new Studio Display marks another long-overdue refresh, replacing the first-generation model introduced in 2022.<\/p>\n

Positioned as the base model in the lineup, it brings a series of modest upgrades, including support for Desk View<\/b>, a revamped six-speaker audio system with Spatial Audio that delivers 30% deeper bass<\/b> than its predecessor, and the addition of one Thunderbolt 5 port<\/b> – bringing the total to two. The upstream port supports up to 96W charging.<\/p>\n

At the same time, it retains a 27-inch 5K Retina display<\/b> with 600 nits of brightness, along with the familiar tilt-adjustable stand.<\/p>\n

Apart from these two monitors, Apple also announced a new MacBook Air with the M5 chip, and new MacBook Pros with the M5 Pro and M5 Max chips.<\/p>\n

Availability and Pricing<\/h2>\n

The new Studio Display XDR and Studio Display are available for pre-order from 9 March<\/b> at apple.com\/sg\/store and in the Apple Store app, and they should be available on Apple\u2019s official storefronts on Lazada and Shopee. <\/p>\n

Prices start from S$4,499<\/b> and S$2,199<\/b> for the Studio Display XDR and Studio Display, respectively. <\/p>\n
