Rescuers aim to reach S$36,000 in funds to treat corgis rescued from breeding facility in Singapore<\/h2>\n
A group of animal rescuers in Singapore are urgently raising S$36,000 for the treatment of two corgis, who were rescued from a puppy farm.<\/p>\n
Particularly, one of them needs to undergo surgery to address severe issues in his knees and hips as soon as possible.<\/p>\n
Speaking to MS News<\/em>, 30-year-old independent rescuer Tiffany said she and her friends rescued 9-month-old Huey and 11-month-old Dewey on 16 Jan from a commercial breeding facility in the West of Singapore.<\/p>\n Ms Tiffany told MS News<\/em> that she had first heard about the facility through a neighbourhood WhatsApp group for dog owners.<\/p>\n \u201cSomeone shared a link to a website listing puppies for adoption, and curiosity led me to visit,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n During her visit, she saw malnourished dogs kept in small cages with no space to move. This contributed to the dogs\u2019 loss of muscle mass.<\/p>\n Source: Give.asia<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cSeeing the state they were in, I knew I couldn\u2019t walk away; I had to get them to safety and thus called a few of my close friends for help,\u201d the rescuer said.<\/p>\n Ms Tiffany also shared that there were several other dogs in the facility.<\/p>\n \u201cWe knew we couldn\u2019t save them all, but I simply couldn\u2019t bear to leave Huey and Dewey behind.\u201d<\/p>\n According to Ms Tiffany\u2019s post on the fundraising site Give.asia, the corgis had been neglected<\/a>, with their coats severely matted with urine and faeces.<\/p>\n \n\t\tFacility allegedly kept dogs kept in small cages<\/h3>\n
