I am lying on a heated massage bed, cocooned in a soft, weighted blanket, as Kayla Faraji caresses my cheeks with billowy, pink goose feathers. She slides them down the sides of my neck and around my bare shoulders, sending chills up my spine.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow I\u2019m scratching, scratching your chest,\u201d Faraji whispers into my ear, especially breathy. \u201cThese are golden nails.\u201d She drags long, prickly iron nail tips up my arms and along my collarbone, filling my ears with a raspy scraping sound.<\/p>\n

It is all part of an hour-long ASMR<\/span> session at KAS Wellness, Faraji\u2019s new \u201cluxury ASMR boutique\u201d in Costa Mesa, southeast of Los Angeles in the US state of California.<\/div>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s deeply relaxing and restorative \u2013 and there\u2019s such a need for that right now,\u201d Faraji says of our session. \u201cI feel like ASMR is the future of wellness, the new massage.\u201d<\/p>\n
