If the last two years were about saying \u201cwe are back\u201d, this year\u2019s Hong Kong \u201cart week\u201d has a more exploratory vibe, as a wave of new initiatives brings fresh ways to appreciate art and design.<\/p>\n

Here is a list of the bold first-timers creating a buzz on the fringes of Art Basel Hong Kong<\/span>, the city\u2019s flagship art fair that starts on March 25.<\/div>\n

1. Central Yards Edible Art Fair<\/h3>\n

This is where art is a full-sensory experience. Hong Kong\u2019s first Central Yards Edible Art Fair will occupy a 20,000 sq ft (1,860 square metre) space at Central Harbourfront, where visitors can explore 10 different zones inspired by major art movements \u2013 from Impressionism and surrealism to modernism \u2013 where treats are paired with displays.<\/p>\n

In the section called \u201cPop It!\u201d, for example, an installation inspired by the neo-pop movement features a claw machine where you can retrieve Jeff Koons-style jelly balloon dogs.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe main goal is to make art more approachable, which is usually quite intimidating for such a major art scene like Hong Kong,\u201d fair founder Arbiona Cadman says.<\/p>\n

Two stations will be dedicated specifically to Hong Kong\u2019s vibrant art scene, including site-specific installations by \u201cFrog King\u201d Kwok Mang-ho<\/span> and Angela Yuen.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
