To celebrate three decades of pocket monsters, The Pokemon Company hosted a video presentation on Pokemon Day with some key details about upcoming events and the future of the series, including:<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"the-gen-10-pokemon-games-winds-and-waves\" class=\"_subHeading1_1k87u_111 _base_1k87u_1\">The Gen 10 Pokemon Games, Winds and Waves<\/h2>\n<div class=\"_embedContainer_wioo3_16\">\n<div class=\"_container_1stzb_1\"><picture><source srcset=\"https:\/\/i.ytimg.com\/vi_webp\/B15Ydgm6QtI\/sddefault.webp\" type=\"image\/webp\"\/><source srcset=\"https:\/\/i.ytimg.com\/vi\/B15Ydgm6QtI\/hqdefault.jpg\" type=\"image\/jpeg\"\/><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"_facade_1stzb_5\" src=\"https:\/\/i.ytimg.com\/vi\/B15Ydgm6QtI\/hqdefault.jpg\" style=\"aspect-ratio:1.7777777777777777\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/picture><button class=\"_playButton_1stzb_12\" type=\"button\"><span class=\"_playButtonText_1stzb_39\">Play<\/span><\/button><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"_base_1s8rd_1 _default_1s8rd_12\">The biggest announcement from the show is <b>Pokemon Winds and Waves<\/b>, which will introduce the 10th generation of Pokemon. It\u2019s definitely the right time considering the three-year gap since Scarlet and Violet were released. Of course, the introduction of a new game comes with a new region, and while the setting of Winds and Waves hasn\u2019t been given a name, there\u2019s heavy inspiration drawn from the tropics.<\/p>\n<p class=\"_base_1s8rd_1 _default_1s8rd_12\">Game Freak states that Winds and Waves is set on \u201cbeautiful windswept islands,\u201d and some of the biomes we see in the trailer include a rainforest, caves, sandy beaches and under the sea. As usual, it\u2019s a Fire, Grass and Water-type; Pombon, a friendly puppy, Browt, a clumsy bean chick, and Gecqua, a water gecko with a bit of a smart streak. Some usual faces are teased to return as well, including Wailord, Tailow, Tangela and, of course, Pikachu.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"_base_1s8rd_1 _default_1s8rd_12\">Unfortunately, there\u2019s still a way to go before we get to play, though. Pokemon Winds and Waves will be released in <b>2027<\/b>, and only for the <b>Nintendo Switch 2<\/b>.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"firered-and-leafgreen-on-switch-plus-details-on-upcoming-games\" class=\"_subHeading1_1k87u_111 _base_1k87u_1\">FireRed and LeafGreen on Switch, plus details on upcoming games<\/h2>\n<div class=\"_embedContainer_wioo3_16\">\n<div class=\"_container_1stzb_1\"><picture><source srcset=\"https:\/\/i.ytimg.com\/vi_webp\/L1DGtXZreAw\/sddefault.webp\" type=\"image\/webp\"\/><source srcset=\"https:\/\/i.ytimg.com\/vi\/L1DGtXZreAw\/hqdefault.jpg\" type=\"image\/jpeg\"\/><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"_facade_1stzb_5\" src=\"https:\/\/i.ytimg.com\/vi\/L1DGtXZreAw\/hqdefault.jpg\" style=\"aspect-ratio:1.7777777777777777\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/picture><button class=\"_playButton_1stzb_12\" type=\"button\"><span class=\"_playButtonText_1stzb_39\">Play<\/span><\/button><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"_base_1s8rd_1 _default_1s8rd_12\"><b>Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen<\/b>, ports of the GBA remake of the original Red and Green games, are finally out on Switch and Switch 2, and cost <b>S$24.50 <\/b>for each on Nintendo\u2019s eShop (FireRed and LeafGreen here). They\u2019re pretty straightforward ports, for better or worse \u2013 no online play, only local wireless for trading and battling other players, so it\u2019s a real throwback experience.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"_base_1s8rd_1 _default_1s8rd_12\">However, there are a couple new features added. Outside of GameChat support on Switch 2, <b>Pokemon Home support is also upcoming<\/b>, so you can transfer any Gen 1s found to newer titles.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"_base_1s8rd_1 _default_1s8rd_12\">One of those titles is the upcoming <b>Pokemon Champions<\/b>. While we\u2019ve known about the PvP Pokemon arena battler for some time, we now have a release window, at least for the Switch and Switch 2 versions: <b>April 2026<\/b>. All 45 songs from Red and Blue are available and come with the player.
