Pok\u00e9mon celebrates its 30th anniversary today, and as you\u2019d expect, Nintendo and The Pok\u00e9mon Company are cranking up the nostalgia in every possible way. In addition to re-releasing the Game Boy Advance remakes of Pok\u00e9mon Red<\/em> and Blue<\/em> on Nintendo Switch Online, they\u2019re also selling us a Game Boy-shaped portable Pok\u00e9mon jukebox.<\/p>\n Officially titled the Pok\u00e9mon Game Music Collection, the little music player is palm-sized and can be loaded up with 45 different cartridges, each featuring a different melody or sound effect from the original games’ soundtrack. The device was announced by longtime series composer Junichi Masuda during today\u2019s anniversary Pok\u00e9mon Presents livestream, where he said that special care has gone into the audio sounding like it did on the Game Boy.<\/p>\n Each cartridge also features a screenshot from the games, so when you slide it into the device\u2019s display slot it looks like you\u2019re playing as well as listening. Put one of these next to last year\u2019s equally charming Lego Game Boy on a shelf and you\u2019ve got two<\/em> entirely non-playable replicas of the iconic handheld, which is sure to confuse and disappoint your guests in equal measure.<\/p>\n The Pok\u00e9mon Game Music Collection is available to buy from Pok\u00e9mon Center starting today, but US pricing is yet to be confirmed.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
