getai<\/a> comeback this Friday (Feb 27) evening. The performance will be Raybe\u2019s first time back on stage since the fatal accident.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\nThe show, organised by Zhenghua Community Club, will be held at the open community space next to Greenridge Shopping Centre in Bukit Panjang. She is set to appear as a special guest performer, with Qixian and Lee Kok Chan serving as emcees.<\/p>\n
In an interview with Shin Min Daily News, Raybe shared that her respiratory tract was injured, leaving her dependent on a breathing tube at one point. Burns to her chin and neck later healed with tightened skin, which made singing extremely challenging.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cAt the beginning, my voice would crack even when singing the most basic notes, and I didn\u2019t have enough breath support. After years of training, I can now sing properly, though high notes are still harder to reach,\u201d she revealed.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Raybe said that in the past few years, no other getai organisers had approached her. However, she continued to receive support and encouragement from her close friend, Qian Weijie, the son of getai host Qixian. Weijie, who is also the planner of the upcoming show, told her he would wait for her to make her return to the stage.<\/p>\n
At first, Raybe felt she hadn\u2019t yet recovered to the level she wanted, and didn\u2019t dare consider returning to the stage. But she never gave up. She worked on her mindset, continued her singing training, and eventually reached out to Weijie last November about making her comeback.<\/p>\n
While she admitted to feeling nervous about performing before a large audience for the first time in years, messages of support from the public have both moved and encouraged her.<\/p>\n
Weijie told Shin Min Daily News that he has known Raybe since childhood, when he would accompany his father to getai shows. Over the past few years, they have grown closer.<\/p>\n
\u201cI asked her if she was ready to return, but she said she wasn\u2019t. So I told her to let me know whenever she was ready,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
When Raybe finally reached out, he was overjoyed, and was determined to prepare the best possible stage for her.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn these past few years, I think she has changed a lot. This time, having the courage to stand up again \u2014 I think she\u2019s truly moved forward,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
