SINGAPORE: Food delivery platform Deliveroo will exit the Singapore market, with its last day of service on Mar 4.<\/span><\/p>\n The company announced this on Wednesday (Feb 25), saying it would begin “an orderly wind-down process”.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThis is a difficult decision and follows a review of country-specific conditions, and our focus on investing where we see the clearest path to sustainable scale and long-term leadership,\u201d Deliveroo said on its website.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cDeliveroo will work closely with local teams to support customers, partners and riders through the transition.”<\/span><\/p>\n Deliveroo said its decision to exit Singapore was part of a broader review of the company\u2019s international portfolio.<\/span><\/p>\n Its parent company, US firm DoorDash, announced in a separate press release that it was ending food delivery services in Qatar, Japan and Uzbekistan as well.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThese decisions follow a multi-month review of country-specific conditions and reflect DoorDash\u2019s continued focus on investing where it sees the clearest path to sustainable scale and long-term leadership,\u201d it said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n It added that the company was also implementing “limited operational changes” in select locations, including investing in certain engineering roles in the United Kingdom.<\/span><\/p>\n DoorDash acquired its British rival Deliveroo<\/span> in May 2025, in a deal valued at US$3.85 billion. The acquisition was aimed at helping DoorDash grow its market share in Europe, competing against Just Eat and Uber Eats.
