\nThe owner of Cheng Ji Seafood Restaurant in Singapore accidentally charged a group of diners SGD2 (US$1.60) for a lobster dish during the Lunar New Year holiday, even though the dish was priced at SGD200.\t<\/span><\/p>\n

The family of four, which was mistakenly charged on the second day of the Lunar New Year (Feb. 18), returned the next day to settle the outstanding amount, the restaurant said in a Facebook post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

“It\u2019s really rare and also very lucky. Not every customer claims the receipt, and even fewer diners would check the receipt and return to the store to pay the balance after finding out that the restaurant undercharged them,” the restaurant owner Dai Xiangying said, as reported by Shin Min Daily News<\/em>.<\/em><\/p>\n

She explained that the diners had initially wanted to order a single Australian lobster priced at SGD168, but the restaurant had run out of that size.<\/p>\n

They subsequently opted for two smaller Australian lobsters, bringing the total to SGD200. Australian lobsters are among the most expensive items on the restaurant\u2019s menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

Dai said the pricing error went unnoticed amid the busy Chinese New Year period and only came to light when the customers returned to pay the remaining SGD198.<\/p>\n

She later took to Facebook to thank the honest diners and presented red packets to their two daughters.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
