The global tablet market continued its recovery<\/b> last year, driven by strong annual growth from Apple and Lenovo. <\/p>\n

According to the latest data from the Omdia PC Horizon Service, global tablet shipments rose 9.8%<\/b> year on year (YoY) to 162 million units. This marks the highest annual shipment volume since 2020, when the Covid-19 pandemic triggered a surge in tablet demand.<\/p>\n

Apple<\/b> not only retained its position as the world\u2019s top tablet brand<\/b> but also extended its lead, shipping more than 19.6 million iPads. Shipments grew 16.5% YoY, fuelled by strong demand for the M5 iPad Pro lineup and iPad (11th gen).<\/p>\n

Samsung ranked second<\/b>, but recorded a 9.2% YoY decline in shipments to 6.4 million units. Lenovo placed third<\/b>, shipping 3.9 million units and enjoyed a significant 36% YoY increase in shipments.<\/p>\n

Looking ahead, Omdia warns that tablet demand could soften<\/b> in the coming months amid a global memory shortage. Rising component costs may push up tablet prices, prompting consumers to delay upgrades or new purchases.<\/p>\n
