The image, released under the Tourism Authority of Thailand\u2019s (TAT) \u201cAmazing Thailand\u201d banner, shows Lisa \u2013 a member of global K-pop sensation Blackpink \u2013 framed against the pink blooms of Udon Thani\u2019s Red Lotus Sea, also known as Talay Bua Daeng.<\/p>\n
Within hours of circulating online, the poster drew sceptical reactions on social media, with some users branding it \u201cdefinitely AI-generated\u201d or questioning whether the image was \u201ctoo perfect to be real\u201d, while others suggested it reflected heavy CGI and retouching rather than generative technology.<\/p>\n
After speculation mounted, the TAT moved to address the claims. In a statement reported by the Bangkok Post on Friday, the agency said it \u201cwould like to confirm that the image currently in circulation is a real photograph resulting from a filming and photography process. No AI image generation was used\u201d.<\/p>\n
TAT acknowledged that the photograph had been graphically enhanced to meet the campaign\u2019s creative brief, but said the work relied on standard design techniques carried out by an experienced creative team, in close coordination with the artist\u2019s management and subject to final approval.<\/p>\n
The reaction from younger Thai online users reflected broader unease about the spread of AI-generated content, with some critics warning that synthetic imagery could blur the distinction between human-made work and machine-generated visuals.<\/p>\n
Comments highlighted by local media ranged from \u201cDoesn\u2019t it look too AI \u2013 so fake?\u201d to \u201cIt looks like it\u2019s floating\u201d, alongside more sympathetic remarks such as \u201cLisa is stunning, but please change the editing team urgently\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
