Photo: Ronan O\u2019Connell<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1xdhyk6 ec74h0k0\">Many of the United Nations agency\u2019s World Heritage \u201csites\u201d are not a single landmark but rather a spread of connected locations, as is the case with the Portuguese-Chinese fusion of culture and architecture that is the <span data-qa=\"Component-Text\" class=\"css-0 ef9u0v00\">\u201cHistoric Centre of Macao\u201d<\/span>.<\/div>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">The site, added to Unesco\u2019s register in 2005, comprises 22 buildings and public spaces on the Macanese peninsula.
