My Hero Academia<\/strong><\/em> was one of the most popular manga in Shonen Jump for roughly a decade, and the series came to an end in August 2024. While the source material is done, the anime is nearly finished, with the final season debuting in Fall 2025. MHA<\/em> is an incredible story of how, in a world of unique abilities called Quirks, Izuku Midoriya became the Number One Hero despite originally not having any powers. As with most popular shonen, My Hero Academia<\/em>‘s female characters<\/strong> can get the short end of the stick at times, but they are generally pretty great and memorable.<\/p>\n\n

While the manga and anime receive quite some flak for the handling of their female characters, most of them are still iconic in their own right. While My Hero Academia’<\/em>s girls<\/strong> tend not to get the same level of attention as their male counterparts, the anime is still home to some well-written characters.<\/p>\nUpdated on January 12, 2026, by Mark Sammut:<\/strong> The best MHA female characters<\/strong> discussion might expand with Vigilantes season 2, although it is still too early to add any new characters from the spin-off. Therefore, we have added two unorthodox characters to this article: Moko Tamashi and Madam President.<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n
\n 27 <\/span>\n All-Might’s Legacy\n\n Quirk:<\/strong> Unnamed\n <\/li>\n\n Japanese Voice Actor:<\/strong> Shiori Sakurai\n <\/li>\n\n English Voice Actor:<\/strong> Jeannie Tirado\n <\/li>\n<\/ul>\nMoko is a unique case. Frankly, she is barely a character, and she only appears briefly in like three episodes. Her personality is not particularly well-defined, and her Quirk isn’t even given a name. Clearly, she shouldn’t be important. However, all her scenes are memorable, particularly her appearance during the Dark Hero arc. So, who is Moko? Well, she is the woman that All-Might saves during his season 3 battle against All for One. Trapped under rubble, she is targeted by the villain, forcing All Might to step in and protect her. This act causes All Might to deflate to his normal form, exposing himself to the entire world.<\/p>\n
Moko is the last person saved by All Might. She is the living embodiment of his heroism, a clear sign that he made a long-lasting difference in this world. During the Dark Hero arc, she shows up to clean All Might’s vandalized status, and not for the first time. She does this in what is effectively a warzone, risking her life for a seemingly pointless act. However, her bravery shows that there are still civilians who believe in heroes.<\/p>\n

\n 26 <\/span>\n The R-Rated Hero Of MHA\n\n Quirk:<\/strong> Somnambulist\n <\/li>\n\n Japanese Voice Actor:<\/strong> Akeno Watanabe\n <\/li>\n\n English Voice Actor:<\/strong> Elizabeth Maxwell\n <\/li>\n<\/ul>\nMidnight is one of the most polarizing My Hero Academia<\/em> female characters<\/strong>, despite being, at best, a minor player who barely does anything during seasons 1 to 5. While sentiment around her might change due to Vigilantes’<\/em> second season, Midnight is mostly seen as a fanservice character who has a costume and theme that are inappropriate for her role as a high school teacher.<\/p>\nCrucially, Midnight contributes very little of substance throughout the anime, despite being introduced in season 1. Most of the teachers, to be honest, barely get any development, but Midnight builds no connection with any of the students during most of her run, with that only changing in season 6. By that point, it was a little too late.<\/p>\n

\n 25 <\/span>\n MHA Vigilantes’ First Major Villain, And She Was A Good One\n\n Quirk:<\/strong> <\/strong>Queen Bee\n <\/li>\n\n Japanese Voice Actor:<\/strong> Sayaka Senbongi\n <\/li>\n\n English Voice Actor:<\/strong> Morgan Laur\u00e9\n <\/li>\n<\/ul>\nMy Hero Academia<\/em> was successful enough that spin-offs became inevitable, and the most successful and revered is undoubtedly Vigilantes<\/em>. Hideyuki Furuhashi’s manga actually ended a few years before the main series, but an adaptation took quite a long time to materialize. Season 1 aired in 2025, and the sequel drops in 2026; so, if nothing else, Vigilantes<\/em> should keep MHA<\/em> in the limelight for a while longer.<\/p>\nAlthough decent from the start, the spin-off does not hit its stride until the Queen Bee arc, which introduces the first major villain. Now, in the grand scheme of things, Kuin is a pawn for a bigger organization known as the Villain Factory, and her time in the spotlight is fairly short; however, she is pretty hard to forget. Firstly, she is not who she appears to be, and I mean that literally. Kuin is the manifestation of the Queen Bee Quirk, which allows her to take over a host and control bees. Her physical appearance is that of Tamao Oguro, a girl who has close ties to one of Vigilantes<\/em>‘ central characters.<\/p>\nKuin has no redeeming features, and she is thoroughly evil and needlessly cruel. She is very much a villain we are meant to hate, and she accomplishes that without any issue.<\/p>\n

Along with agencies, My Hero Academia<\/em> has hero teams that specialize in unique types of missions. The Wild, Wild Pussycats focus on mountain and forest rescue operations, and they are energetic characters who are extremely capable, deceptively so, as they tend to come across as silly most of the time. Except for Tiger, the team consists of female heroes: Mandalay, Pixie-Bob, and Ragdoll. Mandalay serves as the group’s leader since her Quirk allows her to communicate across long distances, but all four members are essentially equals and contribute to the team’s success. They are definitely stronger as a unit than as individuals.<\/p>\nAlthough they are a very small part of MHA<\/em>, the Wild, Wild Pussycats are hard to forget due to their colorful aesthetic and fun personalities, and they have a certain Super Sentai charm to them. They also appear in enough arcs to feel like they have a constant presence throughout the anime, even if their contributions generally amount to just a few minutes of screentime.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
\n 23 <\/span>\n The Representative Of A Flawed System\n\n Quirk:<\/strong> <\/strong>None\n <\/li>\n\n Japanese Voice Actor:<\/strong> Sayaka Kinoshita\n <\/li>\n\n English Voice Actor:<\/strong> Meli Grant\n <\/li>\n<\/ul>\nNow, here is a bit of a special case. Madam President is the Hero Public Safety Commission’s reigning leader for most of My Hero Academia<\/em>, and she is not that interesting on her own; however, she serves as both the HPC’s figurehead and representative. Like the commission in general, Madam President has mostly good intentions and a desire to keep the populace safe, and she is willing to cross lines to meet her goals. While she isn’t as cutthroat and morally bankrupt as some other members, she is nevertheless a cold and calculating person who is willing to support dubious acts in the name of the greater good.<\/p>\nEven though she does not leave a particularly strong impression as a solitary character, Madam President is vital to MHA<\/em>‘s world-building and story. For all its claims to the contrary, the HPC is built on corruption and self-serving interests, and it is primarily driven by a desire to maintain the status quo rather than inspire positive change. Madam President might be a force for relative good, but her leadership contributed to heroism’s decline and eventual fall.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
\n 22 <\/span>\n A Helping Kiss\n\n Quirk:<\/strong> <\/strong>Heal\n <\/li>\n\n Japanese Voice Actor:<\/strong> Etsuko Kozakura\n <\/li>\n\n English Voice Actor:<\/strong> Juli Erickson, Luci Christian\n <\/li>\n<\/ul>\nRecovery Girl is arguably not among the most memorable MHA<\/em> female characters<\/strong>, but she serves an important role as part of U.A. High School’s staff. Taking nursing to the next level, Chiyo’s Heal Quirk is extremely useful, allowing her to fix both minor and relatively serious injuries. Considering she works at a school that regularly stages explosive practical training sessions, her ability comes into constant use, although Recovery Girl is not a miracle worker either. She speeds up the recovery process, so there is nothing she can do if an injury is beyond rehabilitation.<\/p>\nWhile making an appearance in nearly every arc, Chiyo is the definition of a bit-part player, albeit one who students and Pro Heroes respect. She also does not hesitate to reprimand patients who are pushing themselves beyond their limits, and she is willing to make tough decisions if she believes it would be in their best interest.<\/p>\n

\n 21 <\/span>\n A MHA Hero Who Always Has A Smile On Her Face\n\n Quirk: <\/strong>Outburst\n <\/li>\n\n Japanese Voice Actor:<\/strong> Mariko Nagai\n <\/li>\n\n English Voice Actor:<\/strong> Amber Lee Connors\n <\/li>\n<\/ul>\nTo an extent, nearly all MHA<\/em> heroes are optimistic, as otherwise they will find it hard to do what they do. However, Emi takes things a billion times further by being a relentless ball of positive energy. She only makes a couple of appearances throughout the anime, but she makes the most of each moment by dominating scenes with her unwavering cheerfulness and vibrant aesthetic.<\/p>\nShe even extends this attitude to her hero work, as she generally approaches villains with the same disarming vibe (and a Quirk that literally causes them to laugh). She is delightful. While she might not initially seem that way, Emi is a role model for all students, as she demonstrated that this tiring job does not have to diminish your spirits. She is also good at what she does.<\/p>\n
