{"id":26604,"date":"2026-01-07T22:03:38","date_gmt":"2026-01-07T14:03:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=26604"},"modified":"2026-01-07T22:03:38","modified_gmt":"2026-01-07T14:03:38","slug":"3-cyclists-ride-across-road-despite-red-light-and-oncoming-traffic-in-chinatown-pedestrians-almost-as-reckless","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=26604","title":{"rendered":"3 cyclists ride across road despite red light and oncoming traffic in Chinatown, pedestrians almost as reckless"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">Multiple people were seen crossing a road \u2013 or trying to \u2013 in Chinatown during a red light.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">Stomper <span><b>James <\/b><\/span>said the incident happened on Dec 30 at about 5.14pm.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">&#8220;Some people blindly follow others to cross the road without checking the traffic light,&#8221; said James.<\/p>\n<p><iframe class=\"video-container my-lg w-[620px] h-[349px]\" src=\"https:\/\/players.brightcove.net\/4802324446001\/default_default\/index.html?videoId=6387277505112\" title=\"#NoTapis\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">In a video shared by James, two riders can seen going across a pedestrian crossing near People&#8217;s Park Centre even though the traffic light was red for them.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">A pedestrian also attempted to cross the road, but stopped midway and turned back.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">Two other pedestrians \u2013 a man and a woman \u2013 were seen almost stepping onto the road as well, but retreated after realising that James&#8217; car and a motorcycle were approaching.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">That&#8217;s not all \u2013 James was then forced to slow down to avoid another person cycling across the road.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">&#8220;I want to give a warning to road users. Beware of jaywalkers and cyclists alike,&#8221; added James.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">Similar close calls have been reported on <span><a class=\"text-primary-500 hover:underline\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.stomp.sg\/singapore-seen\/pedestrian-sprints-across-road-during-red-light-and-hes-not-only-one-caught-close?ref=author-listing\" target=\"_blank\" data-discover=\"true\">Stomp<\/a><\/span> recently.
