{"id":26588,"date":"2026-01-07T20:41:35","date_gmt":"2026-01-07T12:41:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=26588"},"modified":"2026-01-07T20:41:35","modified_gmt":"2026-01-07T12:41:35","slug":"passenger-taken-to-hospital-after-accident-involving-two-buses-near-bugis-junction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=26588","title":{"rendered":"Passenger taken to hospital after accident involving two buses near Bugis Junction"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">SINGAPORE \u2013 <!-- -->A bus passenger was taken to hospital after an accident near Bugis Junction <!-- -->on Jan 6. <\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">The police said they were alerted to the accident in <!-- -->Victoria Street <!-- -->towards Hill Street<!-- -->, involving two buses, at<!-- --> 7.55am that day<!-- -->. <\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">They<!-- --> <!-- -->added that a <!-- -->47-year-old male bus driver<!-- --> is assisting with investigations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said the <!-- -->66-year-old<!-- --> <!-- -->passenger was taken to <!-- -->Raffles Hospital<!-- -->.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">She was on an SBS Transit bus at the time of the accident.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">In response to queries from The Straits Times, SBS Transit spokeswoman Grace Wu said the transport operator\u2019s immediate priority is the passenger\u2019s well-being. \u201cWe are already in touch with her to extend support and assistance and do wish her a full and speedy recovery.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">Mrs Wu added that SBS Transit is looking into the cause of the incident. \u201cWe also apologise to affected passengers for the inconvenience caused.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">In a video of the aftermath circulating online, the <!-- -->windscreen<!-- --> of a bus, which appears to be operated by SBS Transit, looks damaged.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">Another bus, which appears to be operated by Go-Ahead Singapore, is seen in front, with its rear bumper damaged. <\/p>\n<p><iframe class=\"responsive-iframe-base tiktok tiktok-embed\" title=\"tiktok embed\" scrolling=\"no\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/embed\/v2\/7592208288909954322\" allowfullscreen=\"\" allow=\"accelerometer;falseclipboard-write;
