{"id":26095,"date":"2026-01-06T02:53:47","date_gmt":"2026-01-05T18:53:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=26095"},"modified":"2026-01-06T02:53:47","modified_gmt":"2026-01-05T18:53:47","slug":"firefighters-put-out-blaze-at-raffles-institution","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=26095","title":{"rendered":"Firefighters put out blaze at Raffles Institution"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">SINGAPORE \u2013 <!-- -->A fire broke out in an office at <!-- -->Raffles Institution (RI)<!-- --> on <!-- -->Jan 5<!-- -->.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">The <!-- -->Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF)<!-- --> said it was alerted to the fire, which involved the contents of a second-floor office in an administrative block of the school in Bishan, at <!-- -->12.30pm. <\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">The fire was extinguished by SCDF firefighters with three water jets. <\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">It affected an area about the size of a five-room Housing Board flat, reported Chinese-language news outlet Lianhe Zaobao.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">SCDF said there were no reported injuries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">In response to queries from The Straits Times, RI principal Aaron Loh said the fire broke out at about 12.20pm.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">He said: \u201cThere were no reported injuries and RI has extended support to those affected by the incident.
