Samsung\u2019s upcoming One UI 8.5 update hints at a new display feature<\/b> that could debut with the Galaxy S26 series.<\/p>\n
SamMobile discovered the feature, dubbed Privacy Display<\/b>, within the One UI 8.5 firmware. According to Samsung\u2019s Tips app, the feature works by reducing screen visibility<\/b> when viewed from an angle, helping to keep on-screen content private from nearby onlookers.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s unclear how this feature works exactly, but it likely has something to do with a newer-generation OLED display that can do some tricks with the way it lights its pixels. Or perhaps it has something to do with the display\u2019s coating.<\/p>\n
The Privacy Display feature is rumoured to be exclusive to the Galaxy S26 Ultra<\/b>, although it could eventually roll out across the rest of the lineup. It can be enabled through the Settings app or toggled from the Quick Panel. It can also be set to activate automatically via preset conditions in the Modes and Routines app.<\/p>\n
If Privacy Display works as intended, traditional privacy screen protectors could soon become unnecessary. Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S26 series next month, so we won\u2019t have to wait long to find out more.<\/p>\n
