{"id":24343,"date":"2025-12-30T15:23:44","date_gmt":"2025-12-30T07:23:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=24343"},"modified":"2025-12-30T15:23:44","modified_gmt":"2025-12-30T07:23:44","slug":"phv-crashes-into-lorry-cutting-cross-3-lanes-recklessly-at-holland-road-i-could-not-stop-in-time","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=24343","title":{"rendered":"PHV crashes into lorry cutting cross 3 lanes &#8216;recklessly&#8217; at Holland Road: &#8216;I could not stop in time&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">A private-hire vehicle (PHV) was involved in an accident with a lorry at Holland Road on Dec 22.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">Stomper <span><b>Wong<\/b><\/span>, who is the PHV driver, said it happened at about 1.30pm.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">&#8220;The lorry came out from a small road (Taman Warna) without checking and even cut across three lanes to the rightmost lane,&#8221; recounted the Stomper.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">&#8220;I was in the middle lane. Because he drove recklessly, I could not stop in time and crashed into the right side of his lorry.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><iframe class=\"video-container my-lg w-[620px] h-[349px]\" src=\"https:\/\/players.brightcove.net\/4802324446001\/default_default\/index.html?videoId=6387052775112\" title=\"#NoTapis\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">Wong added that he and the lorry driver had exchanged particulars, but the lorry driver had not made an accident report as of Dec 29.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">&#8220;I called him multiple times on Dec 23 and 24, but he refused to pick up,&#8221; claimed the Stomper.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">&#8220;When he eventually called back, he brushed me off and said he would make a report that day, but until now he hasn&#8217;t.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">Wong said he informed the lorry driver that failing to report the accident within 24 hours would be an offence.
