{"id":24308,"date":"2025-12-30T12:39:40","date_gmt":"2025-12-30T04:39:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=24308"},"modified":"2025-12-30T12:39:40","modified_gmt":"2025-12-30T04:39:40","slug":"motorcyclist-dies-in-aye-accident-police-looking-for-prime-mover-involved","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=24308","title":{"rendered":"Motorcyclist dies in AYE accident, police looking for prime mover involved"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">SINGAPORE \u2013 <!-- -->The police are searching for one of two prime movers<!-- --> <!-- -->involved in an accident on the AYE on the afternoon of Dec 29, when a motorcyclist was killed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">A male motorcyclist, 61, was pronounced dead at the scene by a Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) paramedic, the police said in response to queries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">The police and SCDF were alerted at about 5.45pm on Dec 29 to the accident, which happened in the direction of Tuas before the exit to Clementi Avenue 2.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">Investigations are ongoing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">There were <!-- -->78 fatal accidents<!-- --> from January to June, up from <!-- -->70 in the first half of 2024<!-- -->, with the number of deaths rising from <!-- -->72 to 79<!-- -->, according to the mid-year report by the Traffic Police in August.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">The number of accidents involving motorcyclists went up by <!-- -->9.5 per cent to 2,088 in the first half of 2025<!-- -->, compared with <!-- -->1,907 in the first six months of 2024<!-- -->.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-testid=\"tags-test-id\">\n<p><button data-testid=\"button-test-id\" class=\"layer-one border-default border interactive-button text-primary disabled:layer-disabled hover:disabled:layer-disabled default\" aria-label=\"button for Accidents - traffic\"><span class=\"font-button-md-semibold\">Accidents &#8211;
