Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair has a debut trailer and an April 10, 2026 release date on Hulu.<\/p>\n

The trailer for the revival shows how Malcolm (Frankie Muniz) is dragged back into his family\u2019s orbit after shielding himself from them for over a decade. We see Hal (Bryan Cranston) and Lois (Jane Kaczmarek) demand his presence at their 40th anniversary party, but poor Malcolm, it seems, would rather be left well alone.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy life is fantastic now,\u201d Malcolm says in the trailer. \u201cAll I had to do is stay away from my family.\u201d Hilarity ensues.<\/p>\n

Indeed, the entire original cast returns with the exception of little brother Dewey. Erik Per Sullivan, who originally played the character, won\u2019t return to the show, with Caleb Ellsworth-Clark taking over the role for the revival. Cranston recently revealed the news in a conversation on Dana Carvey and David Spade\u2019s Fly on the Wall podcast<\/u>. \u201cI talked to Erik and I said, \u2018Hey, we got the show! It\u2019s going to come back,\u2019\u201d he explained. \u201cHe goes, \u2018Oh, that\u2019s fantastic!\u2019 And I go, \u2018Yeah, so we\u2019re looking forward to having you back.\u2019 He goes, \u2018Oh, no, no, I don\u2019t want to do it. But it\u2019s fantastic.’\u201d<\/p>\n

The former actor, who is now 33-years-old, has a pretty good reason for sitting this one out. \u201cHe\u2019s actually going to Harvard,\u201d Cranston said during the podcast. \u201cHe\u2019s really, really smart, and he\u2019s getting his master\u2019s at Harvard right now. He said, \u2018Oh God, no, I haven\u2019t acted since I was nine or something. So I\u2019m not into it.’\u201d Following the show\u2019s original run from 2002-2006, Sullivan stepped back from acting just four years later at age 19 to pursue other interests.<\/p>\n

Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair is a special four-part mini-series set for Hulu and via Disney+.<\/p>\n
