Withermoore\u2019s Soul Jar is a side quest in Divinity: Original Sin 2<\/em><\/strong> where players have to find and destroy a phylactery made by Braccus Rex to trap the soul of a chivalrous knight inside. Withermoore, an undead knight trapped forever in limbo, begs the party to save him from his eternal torment and destroy his Soul Jar to allow him to die peacefully.<\/p>\n

    \n Hide and Seek with Mody
    \n <\/h3>\n

    Talk to a child named Mody in the Caverns<\/strong>, south of Fort Joy. He will ask you to play hide and seek with him. Agree, and follow him to his hiding spot to find him. After catching him once, he\u2019ll say he\u2019ll hide again and this time go invisible. Go back to the location where you talked to him the first time (near Frolie), and he\u2019ll come out of invisibility to say that you caught him.<\/p>\n

    After you find Mody the second time, he\u2019ll say that he wants to introduce you to a friend and go through a small crawlspace nearby. Walk up to the spot near the crawlspace where the sunlight is shining down on the ground, and a dirt mound will appear. Use a Shovel to dig up the mound to find an Ancient Stone Hatch<\/strong>. Go through the Ancient Stone Hatch to find Mody standing beside a large impaled undead knight skeleton called Withermoore.<\/p>\n

    Take out the Spear of Braccus Rex that is used to impale Withermoore<\/strong> to the stone wall (requires 12 Strength of 1 Telekinesis), and he will tell you his backstory. He will reveal that he was imprisoned here by Braccus Rex after being sent here to bring the Sourcerer King to justice. Braccus Rex trapped Withermoore\u2019s soul in a jar and cursed him to stay alive for all eternity. The only way Withermoore can die is by destroying the Soul Jar, which he requests the player to do. In exchange, he says that he can show you the way to escape Fort Joy.<\/p>\n

    \n Holding Cells
    \n <\/h3>\n

    Agree to help Withermoore, and he will give you a clue: there is a secret switch on the statue of the Seven in the courtyard that leads to Fort Joy Prison\u2019s main floor. Braccus Rex\u2019s phylactery room, where Withermoore\u2019s Soul Jar is trapped, can be found nearby.<\/p>\n

    Fast travel to Fort Joy – Square Waypoint <\/strong>and interact with the Shrine to the Divine. Select the option \u201cNotice the button Withermoore described and press its worn surface.\u201d <\/strong>A small stone hatch to the underground will appear right next to the statue.<\/p>\n

    Enter the hatch to find the Fort Joy – Dungeon Waypoint with a locked door nearby. Either attack the door to destroy it or use a lockpick to unlock it to enter the Holding Cells.<\/p>\n

    \n Fort Joy Prison
    \n <\/h3>\n

    At the far end of the Holding Cells is a room with the Magister Houndmaster. Next to him, on a wooden stool next to an overturned chair, is the Prison Key<\/strong>. You can either sneak up and grab the key or kill the Magister Houndmaster and his lackeys to claim it.<\/p>\n

    Use the Prison Key to open the main door up the stairs to head into the Fort Joy Prison<\/strong> main area. Here, open the map and look for the red flag on the map to find a stone altar with a lever <\/strong>nearby. Pull the lever, and the altar will give way, revealing another hatch that leads down to the Ancient Passage.<\/p>\n

    Don’t forget to loot the Shiny Red Ball from the Magister Houndmaster if you kill him. It comes in handing during the Finding Emmie quest.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/section>\n

    \n Ancient Passage

    Here, you\u2019ll see two large poison clouds<\/strong> blocking the path ahead. Use Telekinesis to move the Vases<\/strong> on the sides of the room on top of the vents that are spitting out the poison clouds. This will stop the poison gas’s spread. Alternatively, you can use a fire spell to trigger the poison clouds and cause them to explode, and then run through the area unharmed.<\/p>\n

    If you have an undead party member like Fane in your party, they can move through the poison clouds with impunity since it does no damage to the undead.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/section>\n

    \n Withermoore\u2019s Soul Jar
    \n <\/h3>\n

    On the other side of the poison clouds, you\u2019ll find a large chamber with five Soul Jars labeled Withermoore\u2019s Soul Jar. Only one of these jars is real; the rest are traps. The real Withermoore\u2019s Soul Jar\u2019s ancient plaque states, \u201cHere lies Withermoore the Supplicant.\u201d<\/strong> This is the Jar found at the far end of the room, on the left.<\/p>\n

    Two of the fake Withermoore\u2019s Soul Jars will summon undead enemies to fight you. For maximum gain, it\u2019s worth summoning these enemies to gain additional experience.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/section>\n

    There is a statue in an alcove accessible via a ladder in the Ancient Passage (near the Soul Jars) that contains the Tyrant’s Stride <\/strong>leg armor piece. This is a part of the Tyrant Set and is required to complete the Artefacts of the Tyrant side quest.<\/p>\n
