\nSingapore\u2019s Nanyang Technological University (NTU) has been ranked as the world\u2019s top institution for artificial intelligence degrees in the 2025 Global Ranking of Academic Subjects by ShanghaiRanking.\t<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

NTU topped the ranking, which were released last month, with 289 points, closely followed by Tsinghua University in China.<\/p>\n

Among the top 10 globally, three universities are based in Asia, with the remaining institutions in North America and Australia.<\/p>\n

China dominates the ranking with 10 institutions, two in the top 10 and the remaining eight in positions 11 to 20.<\/p>\n

The U.S. has four institutions listed, while Canada has three. Singapore, Australia, and the U.K. each have one representative in the top 20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

This year, the ShanghaiRanking assessed approximately 2,000 universities from 100 countries and regions, ranking 400 universities specifically for their AI programs.<\/p>\n

These institutions had to publish at least 100 scientific papers in the field between 2020 and 2024.<\/p>\n

The ranking methodology includes five main criteria: faculty quality, volume of outstanding research, research quality, research impact, and international collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

The ShanghaiRanking, also known as the Academic Ranking of World Universities, was established by China’s Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2003.<\/p>\n

It is considered one of the three most prestigious university rankings worldwide, alongside Quacquarelli Symonds and Times Higher Education.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
