Three people, including an inmate and two escorting officers, sustained minor injuries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">The accident happened on CTE towards SLE after Jalan Bahagia, said SPS in a Facebook post on Dec 20. <\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">The vehicle was transporting the three people from Tan Tock Seng Hospital back to Selarang Park Complex after the inmate\u2019s medical appointment when a private vehicle collided into the prison vehicle\u2019s rear.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">The prison vehicle then hit a second private vehicle that was in front of it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">The inmate and one of the escorting officers were trapped at the rear of the SPS vehicle, and were rescued by the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) using hydraulic rescue equipment. <\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">The inmate was taken to Changi General Hospital by SPS and discharged after medical treatment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">The two escorting officers sustained minor injuries and subsequently received medical treatment.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">SPS is assisting the police with investigations, the post added.   <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-testid=\"tags-test-id\">\n<p><button data-testid=\"button-test-id\" class=\"layer-one border-default border interactive-button text-primary disabled:layer-disabled hover:disabled:layer-disabled default\" aria-label=\"button for Singapore\"><span class=\"font-button-md-semibold\">Singapore<\/span><\/button><button data-testid=\"button-test-id\" class=\"layer-one border-default border interactive-button text-primary disabled:layer-disabled hover:disabled:layer-disabled default\" aria-label=\"button for Accidents - traffic\"><span class=\"font-button-md-semibold\">Accidents &#8211; traffic<\/span><\/button><button data-testid=\"button-test-id\" class=\"layer-one border-default border interactive-button text-primary disabled:layer-disabled hover:disabled:layer-disabled default\" aria-label=\"button for Prisons\"><span class=\"font-button-md-semibold\">Prisons<\/span><\/button><button data-testid=\"button-test-id\" class=\"layer-one border-default border interactive-button text-primary disabled:layer-disabled hover:disabled:layer-disabled default\" aria-label=\"button for Police\"><span class=\"font-button-md-semibold\">Police<\/span><\/button><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.straitstimes.com\/singapore\/3-people-injured-in-accident-involving-prison-vehicle-singapore-prison-service\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Read Full Article At Source <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SINGAPORE \u2013 A Singapore Prison Service (SPS) vehicle was involved in an accident with two private vehicles on Dec 19.
