Cable wakeboarding, a discipline under the broader sport of wakeboarding, returned to the SEA Games after a six-year hiatus.  Its only previous appearance was in 2019. This year, it was contested as a team event, with each country fielding six riders made up of three men and three women. Hosts Thailand took gold, while the Philippines claimed bronze.
