{"id":19908,"date":"2025-12-15T07:44:42","date_gmt":"2025-12-14T23:44:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=19908"},"modified":"2025-12-15T07:44:42","modified_gmt":"2025-12-14T23:44:42","slug":"187-parking-offenders-nabbed-in-3-days-waiting-vehicle-considered-parked-even-with-engine-on-driver-present","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=19908","title":{"rendered":"187 parking offenders nabbed in 3 days: Waiting vehicle considered &#8216;parked&#8217; even with engine on, driver present"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">A waiting vehicle is considered parked.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">According to the Land Transport Authority (LTA), even if the driver is present or the engine is running, it&#8217;s considered parking.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">As far as LTA is concerned, &#8220;parking&#8221; refers to stopping a vehicle other than immediately picking up or dropping off passengers, goods or luggage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">On Dec 11, <span><a class=\"text-primary-500 hover:underline\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/WeKeepYourWorldMoving\/posts\/pfbid02JNhzoHDn51TViTa7enLgu6o6qoBZFPBJyzVY4KWKhPbnvXJ4Gx21YaeNamdj75BZl\" target=\"_blank\">LTA posted on social media<\/a><\/span>: &#8220;We carried out a three-day enforcement operation against illegal parking across central Singapore last month.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">A total of 187 vehicles were nabbed for various offences such as parking on double yellow lines, opposite continuous white lines, on double white lines as well as stopping in a no-stopping zone.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">&#8220;Such behaviours cause obstruction to traffic and pose safety risks,&#8221; said LTA.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">&#8220;We urge motorists to adhere to parking rules to keep our roads safe for all pedestrians and other road users.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">Offenders can face penalties and\/or demerit points.
