Facebook<\/a><\/span>, starts with the elderly man – standing with his back to the camera \u2014 telling a younger man not to talk so loudly.<\/p>\nThe latter, who has taken a seat reserved for the elderly or handicapped, regards him impassively and replies: “Now you are louder.”<\/p>\n
The older man utters an expletive, but the younger one remains unfazed, gesturing to another part of the bus and telling the older man: “Sit.”<\/p>\n
“You want to fight?” says the elderly man. “I am a Singaporean, you know. You know who you are, behave yourself.”<\/p>\n
He mutters something unintelligible before telling the man to “keep your mouth shut”. The younger man replies: “Can I talk nicely?” before the clip ends.

<\/span>The clip, shared on Facebook page Singapore incidents on Dec 10, has so far garnered at least 82,000 views, 688 reactions and 247 comments.<\/p>\n‘We are all human beings’<\/h3>\n
Commenters on the post were uncertain about the full context of the incident, with some assuming the older man was scolding the younger one for taking a reserved seat.<\/p>\n
“Aiya…just stand up and give him the seat la. You so [sic] strong man, why u [sic] need the seat and the blue sign plate shown so clearly,” said one.<\/p>\n
Others felt the spat was not about the seats. “Uncle making noise it’s [sic] not because of seat, most probably the fellows talk [sic] loud,” said a netizen.<\/p>\n
“It is more like the FW [sic] was talking loudly, not about the seat, because there were empty ones around. Listen to what the SG uncle was saying,” said another.<\/p>\n
Some thought the older man was intoxicated. “The uncle appears drunk, keep [sic] talking, its not seat issue, mayb [sic] the guy was talking loudly,” said a Facebook user.<\/p>\n
Others felt the older man was out of line. “Aiyoh Uncle u [sic] dont know how tired are [sic] they…You think easy [sic] work under sun and rain [sic] dusty and carry heavy things [sic] please let them relax human being must understand to [sic] one another,” said a commenter.<\/p>\n
Another said: “Uncle. No matter what happened, We [sic] are all human being, how you [sic] feel if you are being questioned by others when u [sic] are out of your country. Please be nice.”<\/p>\n
There were random comments too, with one noting that the man seated beside the foreign worker resembled Liverpool footballer Mo Salah, who is currently in a spat with his club.<\/p>\n
“Mo Salah sitting beside the guy must be wondering, first I was thrown under the bus..now inside bus also hv [sic] problem.”<\/p>\n
