{"id":18959,"date":"2025-12-12T09:57:43","date_gmt":"2025-12-12T01:57:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=18959"},"modified":"2025-12-12T09:57:43","modified_gmt":"2025-12-12T01:57:43","slug":"hundreds-take-jb-to-kl-electric-train-on-first-day-of-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=18959","title":{"rendered":"Hundreds take JB to KL electric train on first day of service"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\"><span class=\"dateline\">JOHOR BAHRU<\/span> \u2013 Hundreds of passengers boarded the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.straitstimes.com\/asia\/se-asia\/malaysias-long-awaited-ets-service-linking-kl-and-jb-makes-its-debut-in-preview-run?ref=inline-article\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" class=\"gap-x-04 items-center inline text-primary-60 select-auto\" aria-label=\"link\" target=\"_blank\" data-testid=\"custom-link\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular inline\" data-testid=\"paragraph-test-id\">first electric train service (ETS)<\/p>\n<p><\/a> from Johor Bahru to Kuala Lumpur on the morning of Dec 12, in a milestone for rail travel in Malaysia. <\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">In JB Sentral, the waiting zone was abuzz as passengers arrived as early as 7.30am to take the sold-out train that left the station at around 8.40am. Another service will leave for KL Sentral at 4.20pm.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">Passengers were also seen taking selfies and spotted wearing matching t-shirts with train designs. Other passengers queued up for ETS merchandise, and taking commemorative photos at a KTM booth. <\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">When the gates opened at 8am, passengers scanned their e-boarding passes on the gantries and were greeted by cabin crew clad in yellow uniform.
