A 39-year-old cyclist died in an accident with a Tower Transit bus along Admiralty Drive towards Sembawang Road on Nov 29.<\/p>\n

Stomper Rose <\/b><\/span>shared photos showing part of the bus’s windscreen shattered after the collision. A bicycle can be seen wedged underneath the double-decker bus.<\/p>\n

In response to queries by Stomp, the police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they were alerted to the accident at about 10.55am.<\/p>\n

The male cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene by an SCDF paramedic, while the 41-year-old bus driver is assisting with police investigations.<\/p>\n

A Tower Transit spokesperson told The Straits Times<\/a><\/span> it is aware of the incident involving bus service 859, adding: “We are deeply saddened to learn that the cyclist has passed away. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family during this difficult time.”<\/p>\n

Based on preliminary information, the bus was travelling along Admiralty Drive when the cyclist moved across the road and into the bus’ path.<\/p>\n

The spokesperson said the bus could not stop in time, resulting in the collision, and noted that the authorities will establish the full circumstances.<\/p>\n

According to Shin Min Daily News<\/a><\/span>, a resident saw the cyclist trapped under the wheels of the bus. The bus’s windscreen was cracked and bloodstains could be seen on the road.<\/p>\n

More than 20 passengers were onboard at the time, but none of them was injured.<\/p>\n
