With 2025 rapidly approaching its end, Final Fantasy 14<\/strong><\/em> has officially revealed the return of its annual Christmas event, the Starlight Celebration festival. Players will be able to take part in a short Final Fantasy 14<\/em> seasonal questline to acquire six new emotes as well as some cute housing items.<\/p>\n

Though the year is nearly over, Final Fantasy 14<\/em> still has some new arrivals before 2026 arrives. In December, Final Fantasy 14<\/em> Patch 7.4 will arrive, which will introduce new MSQ, the conclusion of the Arcadion Raid series, and the removal of most glamour restrictions. After that, the road to the story’s next major expansion will begin in earnest, with the first major reveals expected in April 2026 during the Final Fantasy 14<\/em> Fan Festival.<\/p>\n

Beginning on December 17, 2025 at midnight PST, players will be able to participate in 2025’s version of the Christmas-themed seasonal event, the Starlight Celebration. The event will close on December 31 at 6:59 am PST, giving players two weeks to check out everything the event has to offer. Players who want to participate will need to be at least level 15, and should head to Mih Khetto’s Amphitheatre in Old Gridania to start the quest. The quest-starting NPC, Amh Garanjy, will be found at X:10.2 and Y:9.4 in that zone.<\/p>\n

In addition to the usual wintery seasonal decorations and storyline to play through, players will be able to unlock six new beverage-sipping emotes being added to the game. These are themed around Final Fantasy 14<\/em>‘s starter cities and include Gridanian Sip, Gridanian Gulp, Ul’dahn Sip, Ul’dahn Gulp, Lominsan Sip, and Lominsan Gulp. Judging by the illustrations, there will be one animation sequence for the “Sip” line of emotes and one for the “Gulp” emotes respectively, but each city’s variation will use a different seasonal mug. At this time, it’s not clear if these will be identical or merely similar to the existing tea emotes in the game.<\/p>\n

Similar to the emotes, there will be two sets of decorative items available for Final Fantasy 14<\/em> player homes and apartments. These include Ul’dahn Kinderpunsch and Lominsan Kinderpunsch, which are tabletop items that can be used up to ten times to gain a 30 minute meal benefit. Specifically, the beverages provide Piety Bonus +4% (Max 10), VIT Bonus +5% (Max 12), Gear Durability Bonus +3, and EXP Bonus +3%. The second set of items are purely decorative, with a stack of the Ul’dahn and Lominsan mugs, respectively. Players who were active during the Starlight Celebration in 2024 may recognize these, as the Gridanian equivalent was part of the giveaway during that year’s event.<\/p>\n

Particularly festive players will be able to acquire a small selection of prior Christmas-themed event items from Starlight suppliers. However, most prior seasonal items end up going to the paid store after their respective events end. Those who have their eye on something may want to check the store once the event begins, as it usually holds a sale period during this time where the majority of prior seasonal event goodies are discounted from their usual cost. <\/p>\n

Once the Starlight Celebration closes out the year, players won’t have long to wait until the next seasonal event. The first half of the year receives plenty of them, and players can typically expect monthly seasonal events through May. These include Heavensturn to celebrate the new year, Valentione’s Day in February, Little Ladies’ Day in March, Hatching-tide for Easter in April, and the Make it Rain Campaign Gold Saucer event in May. While the next major expansion for Final Fantasy 14<\/em> won’t land until either late 2026 or sometime in 2027, players should have plenty of regular activities to keep busy with until then.<\/p>\n
