{"id":18491,"date":"2025-12-10T23:02:40","date_gmt":"2025-12-10T15:02:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=18491"},"modified":"2025-12-10T23:02:40","modified_gmt":"2025-12-10T15:02:40","slug":"flash-floods-take-waterfront-dining-to-new-levels-at-tengah-mall-and-clementi-eatery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=18491","title":{"rendered":"Flash floods take &#8216;waterfront dining&#8217; to new levels at Tengah mall and Clementi eatery"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">A heavy downpour on the afternoon of Dec 4 triggered flash floods across parts of Singapore.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">Stomper <span><b>Skai <\/b><\/span>was having his late lunch at Lau Wang Claypot Delights at Plantation Plaza Tengah, when he noticed the water level rising on the ground.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">&#8220;I was informed by one of the staff that this flooding issue has occurred many times before.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">&#8220;They have already raised complaints with the management of Plantation Plaza, but the problem has yet to be resolved,&#8221; Skai said.<\/p>\n<p><iframe class=\"video-container my-lg w-[620px] h-[349px]\" src=\"https:\/\/players.brightcove.net\/4802324446001\/default_default\/index.html?videoId=6386268921112\" title=\"#NoTapis\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">&#8220;The flooding happens during heavy rain, likely due to poor design of the water drainage system,&#8221; he added. &#8220;I&#8217;m not sure when this issue first began, but this is the first time I have personally witnessed it,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">The incident allegedly affected several shops on the second level of the mall, including Lau Wang Claypot Delights and nearby beauty shops.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">Skai told Stomp: &#8220;It is disappointing that a mall that has been open for more than a year still has such major issues that remain unfixed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">&#8220;I felt very sorry for the staff who had to keep sweeping water out of the shops. Their shoes and socks were soaked, and I could empathise with the discomfort of having to wear wet socks until the end of the day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">&#8220;I&#8217;m not sure how many staff developed blisters after sweeping for about 45 minutes.
