While Vivo has had the midrange V-series phones for years with a flagship-lite X200 FE in Singapore earlier this year, a proper X-series flagship handset helped bolster hope that the Chinese brand would finally give Singapoeans the high-quality device they deserve.<\/p>\n\nVivo X300 Pro in Dune Brown.<\/p>\n

The phone comes equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 9500<\/u><\/b> <\/b>processor that\u2019s exclusively customised for Vivo. It also has an in-house Blueprint V3+ chip to boost image signal processing workloads.\u00a0This helps set Vivo\u2019s best phones apart from generic Chinese-brand Androids with mere OEM parts.<\/p>\n
Sweetening the deal is the new international version of Vivo\u2019s OriginOS 6<\/b> operating system (based on Android 16), rather than the juvenile, bloated Funtouch OS.<\/p>\n
Our review unit has a large 6.78-inch display that supports a\u00a0<\/b>refresh rate up to 120Hz and a brightness as low as one nit for idling or standby.<\/p>\n
Powered by a huge 6,510mAh<\/b> battery, we\u2019re expecting some fantastic battery life benchmark results out of this phone.<\/p>\n

The phone has two colourways for retail: Dune Brown and Phantom Black. Although the name suggests a sandy theme, Dune Brown turns out to be a creamy beige. It\u2019s no sand, but the colour feels pleasant and neutral, plus it\u2019s easy on the eyes.<\/p>\n
The massive, circular camera bump on the rear takes up nearly half of the phone, and the black glass finish it uses stood out in stark contrast against the light-coloured glass back (which breaks its design language). <\/p>\n
If you prefer a more cohesive appearance, the Phantom Black option might be a better choice. Either colour has a frosted glass back that mitigates oily fingerprints. <\/p>\n\nBright and legible under afternoon sunlight.<\/p>\n

Thin bezels surround the large display, and playback colours appeared vibrant. The 4,500-nit<\/b> peak brightness ensures that content is legible even on sunny afternoons.<\/p>\n
The phone has an IP68+IP69<\/b> dust and water resistance rating, making it resistant against submersion and high-temperature jets of water or steam cleaning. Why would you need to steam clean your Vivo X300 Pro is beyond us, but we appreciate the added protection.<\/p>\nA coherent OS always feels smooth<\/h2>\n\nVivo\u2019s OriginOS 6<\/p>\n

Previously, Vivo has two separate operating systems for the international and Chinese markets. Ours was Funtouch OS, as seen in our previously reviewed Vivo phones (Vivo X Fold 5, Vivo V60, Vivo V50, Vivo 40). <\/p>\n
Vivo X300 Pro starts on a new page with the international version of OriginOS 6. We\u2019ve detailed the main differences between OriginOS 6 and its older UI here, if you\u2019re curious.<\/p>\n
Our trials revealed that OriginOS 6 is a much better experience than the outdated Funtouch OS we were stuck with for a long time. Browsing animations are more fluid, apps truly open faster, and the overall experience feels smoother and more intuitive.<\/p>\n
Aesthetically, it takes some nice design cues from some other<\/i> operating systems with things like Gradient Blur, Dynamic Glow and Translucent Colour.\u00a0<\/p>\n
