{"id":16769,"date":"2025-12-04T17:00:38","date_gmt":"2025-12-04T09:00:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=16769"},"modified":"2025-12-04T17:00:38","modified_gmt":"2025-12-04T09:00:38","slug":"stb-revokes-travel-agency-toyou-travels-licence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=16769","title":{"rendered":"STB revokes travel agency Toyou Travel\u2019s licence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">SINGAPORE \u2013 <!-- -->Toyou Travel<!-- --> is no longer permitted to carry out any travel agent activities after its licence was revoked due to concerns about the authenticity of the company\u2019s financial statements, the <!-- -->Singapore Tourism Board (STB)<!-- --> said on Dec 4. <\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">The agency must refund all its existing customers, or hand over its existing obligations to licensed travel agents to fulfil, STB said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">The board said Toyou Travel submitted auditor-certified financial statements to STB each year, and added: \u201cSTB\u2019s review of Toyou Travel\u2019s submissions revealed concerns about the authenticity of the financial information provided.\u201d  <\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">STB added Toyou\u2019s licence was revoked as the board has reason to believe that the company contravened the part of the Travel Agents Regulations relating to furnishing false information by \u201csubmitting false financial statements for some years, constituting an offence involving dishonesty\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">It added that an updated list of licensed travel agents in Singapore can be found on its website at <a href=\"https:\/\/trust.stb.gov.sg\/?ref=inline-article\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" class=\"gap-x-04 items-center inline text-primary-60 select-auto\" aria-label=\"link\" target=\"_blank\" data-testid=\"custom-link\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular inline\" data-testid=\"paragraph-test-id\">trust.stb.gov.sg<\/p>\n<p><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">In a media reply, a Toyou Travel spokesperson said that the agency has no payments owed to suppliers or customers, and all previous obligations have been settled.
