Having a physical injury can be really crippling, and that’s what local actress Ferlyn G<\/a> has been going through for the past two weeks ago.<\/p>\n

In mid-November, the 33-year-old Emerald Hill<\/a> <\/em>star shared that she’d fractured her collarbone but continued to work despite her injury.\u00a0<\/p>\n

She gave an update on her recovery on Sunday (Nov 30), chirping that her “clavicle bone is realigning nicely” with just “minimal displacement remaining”.<\/p>\n

The actress, however, divulged that she’d still have to be in an arm sling for another four to six weeks, and that she’d have another follow-up X-ray to assess her condition again.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ferlyn later told Chinese media Shin Min Daily News<\/a> that, while getting injured when filming isn’t new, this was her first time getting a collarbone fracture.<\/p>\n

When the accident happened, the actress was most worried about having a permanent shoulder deformity.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe first time I looked in the mirror and saw bruising, swelling, and a slight tilt in my right shoulder, it was really hard to accept because I\u2019ve always cared a lot about my shoulders and have worked hard to strengthen them,\u201d she recalled.<\/p>\n

She was so shaken by the sight of her shoulder after the injury that she hid in the bathroom and cried.<\/p>\n

But how did she get hurt in the first place?\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ferlyn said she was preparing for a new drama and was practising action sequences.\u00a0<\/p>\n

While she thankfully did not have to be hospitalised, the accident happened just a day before filming began, meaning she had to go to work with a fresh injury.<\/p>\n

Not wanting to delay filming, she even ditched the arm sling and went back to work the next day, relying on painkillers to get through it.<\/p>\n

Despite that, Ferlyn, who’s currently filming a drama in Malaysia, assured that “everything is under control now”.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“The crew and my fellow actors have been very considerate and careful with my injury, and overall, filming is going smoothly.”<\/p>\n

The doctor also specifically reminded Ferlyn to avoid collisions and heavy lifting at all cost.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m following medical advice with physiotherapy exercises and would stop immediately if I feel pain. My recovery is going well, thank you everyone for your concern,” affirmed the actress.<\/p>\n

Regardless, having an injury on her right shoulder, which is her dominant side, has affected her daily life noticeably.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Even after four weeks, she still feels pain when moving her arm in certain ways or performing some actions.<\/p>\n

She, for instance, also cannot lift anything heavier than one kg, and would need help even for simple tasks like getting dressed.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
