{"id":15867,"date":"2025-12-01T13:35:37","date_gmt":"2025-12-01T05:35:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=15867"},"modified":"2025-12-01T13:35:37","modified_gmt":"2025-12-01T05:35:37","slug":"top-10-travel-trends-for-hongkongers-in-2026-from-road-trips-to-romantasy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=15867","title":{"rendered":"Top 10 travel trends for Hongkongers in 2026, from road trips to \u2018romantasy\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"\">\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Fans of \u201cromantasy\u201d, a literary genre that blends romance and fantasy, find happiness in mythical storybook worlds in which characters do things like slay dragons and hang out in castles, all while finding love at the same time.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Now some are taking their passion for the genre into the real world by embracing \u201cromantasy\u201d travel, holidaying to destinations inspired by settings in their favourite novels such as snow-capped mountains, lush forests and ancient castles.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">This is one of the global trends forecast for 2026 by digital travel platform Booking.com in its \u201cTravel Predictions 2026\u201d survey.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Conducted among a sample of adults who planned to travel for business or leisure in the next 12-24 months, it polled 29,733 respondents across 33 countries and territories, including 1,004 from Hong Kong.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">\u201cRomantasy\u201d travel has struck a chord in Hong Kong, with 89 per cent of those surveyed from the city expressing interest in visiting destinations inspired by romantic or fantasy themes.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">More than three-quarters (76 per cent) were also open to joining role-play retreats based on their favourite games, books or films, surpassing the global average of 53 per cent.<\/p>\n<div class=\"image-inline-container e1a5rv550 css-1llrc1m e1yqhwb40\" data-qa=\"Component-renderMap-StyledDiv\">\n<div class=\"image-inline caption e1fvabeq0 css-19sk4h4 ea9pn0s0\" data-qa=\"Component-Container\">\n<figure class=\"image-inline caption ea9pn0s1 css-1qeofuq e1gf69pb0\" data-qa=\"ArticleImage-ArticleImageContainer\">\n<div data-qa=\"ArticleImage-handleRenderImage-ImageContainer\" class=\"css-0 e1gf69pb3\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\u201cRomantasy retreats\u201d appealed to 89 per cent of Hongkongers in the travel survey.
